How long does it take to get to Downtown Disney? Is it all by bus? Is it better to drive?

Many thanks in advance.

Can take up to an hour depending on the buses - longer if you're falling down drunk like I have been several times and you can't manage to get on the bus. The otters once took me to PI in a wheel barrow - it was an interesting trip.

I have to agree, the buses to DTD usually take a long time and thats why we drive. Then again, if's it a rainy theres hardly any parkings spaces at DTD..

Drive. It is sooooo much easier. Every time I have taken the bus to DTD it takes forever. But if you plan on consuming some adult beverages, then I would definitely take the bus!!!!!

For some reason the busses to DTD are hit or miss, sometimes we have gotten there quickly and other times its taken forever.

I'm normally a big advocate of using the buses, but DtD is probably the least frequently run bus at the Fort. It makes no sense to me that a 5 minute trip should be operated only every 45+ minutes. If you have a car, and won't be imbibing too many adult refreshments, I'd drive. If that's not the case, pack some extra patience.

:santa:

I always take the bus to DTD, (actually, I pretty much only use the buses). Yes it does take longer, but I'm free to drink whatever I want. I've always found the parking at DTD to be horrendous.

However, with the closing of Pleasure Island, I'm finding less and less reason to go to DTD.

The 10% discount AP discount at World of Disney is becoming less and less of an incentive to shop at that insanely huge and overcrowded store.

We must have hit it right as the bus came quickly, but golly it sure was a slow long trip. Expecially on the way back when they first switched drivers and the stopped by Typhoon Lagoon....took nearly an hour...uuuggghhh.
However we have also drove and could not find parking anywhere. If you go early in the day, parking is not so bad, but the later it gets, forget about it.
