Hi!

I’m looking to see what my least expensive options are for transportation to Saratoga Springs from Port Canaveral or MCO after a cruise on Royal Caribbean.

I have found a few companies that’ll provide transportation from the Port to MCO, but nothing directly from the port to Disney World! If I have to find transportation from MCO that’s okay, but it cannot be Lyft as I’ll be with my mom and she’s very apprehensive about take a ride on a Lyft / Uber.

any ideas? And the cost ? Thanks

Your least expensive option is to get the shuttle from the port to MCO and then take DME to SSR.

Another vote for Tony Hinds. He has a 12 passenger van and will give you door to door service. We booked him for transportation from the Orlando airport to our hotel at Disney to Port Canaveral then back to the airport. His prices are competitive with other car service providers, which is more expensive than Uber/Lyft, but we thought the service was worth the cost.

I was under the impression that To be eligible to use Magical Express, I would need to be arriving in a flight, is this incorrect?

No, you need to have a resort reservation. You can call to make the DME reservation and give them a flight number (find it online) that arrives at MCO around the time you expect to be there (although you'd probably want to give them one that arrives an hour before you expect to arrive). Many people fly in the night before, stay at the airport hotel, and then go on DME the next morning.

Or, if you don't want to make the DME reservation, just go up to the DME counter with your confirmation number for your SSR reservation and they'll get you on a bus.

You can:
1) Rent a car
2) Hire a car service (I recommend Tony Hinds)
3) Use Ride Sharing
4) Shuttle to MCO then use DME

thanks for your reply. I love ride shares but my dear mother doesn’t like the idea at all. She doesn’t want to ride in what she calls an unlicensed taxi. 😉

I loved to have DME but I didn’t think I would be eligible as I’d be arriving to MCO on Shuttle from the cruise port and not on a flight.

It's included in the overpriced resort rate. DME doesn't care HOW you get to MCO, just that you're there.

No need to even give them a flight number if you call DME directly to make your reservation. Direct phone is 866-599-0951. Have your resort reservation confirmation number ready and just tell them the approximate time you expect to be at MCO to head to your resort. The DME reservation agents know that you don’t need a flight number to book DME transportation. The Disney central reservation agents are not so knowledgeable and only know how to fill in the same form you can access online.
