We have an ADR for Cape May Cafe at 7:30 one morning. My question is, since we will be coming from the Contemporary, how will we get there? We will be going to Epcot after breakfast. Can we ride the monorail to epcot and then walk to Cape May that early? I didn't know how close the monorail was to Cape May. Also, we don't really want to have to ride a bus unless we have to because of our sons stroller. Would buses even be running that early? Would the monorail?:confused3

You will not be able to take the monorail to Epcot and walk to Cape May from there as that route requires you to go through Epcot, which is not likely to be open that early in the morning.

There are no buses that go from resort to resort, so that won't work either.

If you want to use Disney transportation, your best bet is to walk or take the monorail to the MK and then take a bus from there to BC (although, again, I am not sure if the Disney transportation will be running that early).

The easiest thing to do will be to just take a cab from Contemp to BC. After breakfast, you can then easily walk to Epcot (although with a 7:30 breakfast, Epcot might not be open by the time you are done, so you may have to wait at the International Gateway entrance for a bit before you are let in).

Would a cab work with a two year old who would need a carseat? We could drive, but I know we can't leave our vehicle at the beach club like over so many hours and we want to go to epcot afterward. How much would a cab for four adults and a child run? Should I just change our breakfast time?

I would take a cab also if you want to keep your time. It should cost about $8 for you to do so. I am not sure about the car seat though. Ask one of the people at bell services the day/night before and they should be able to tell you. Otherwise to do what you need to do via the bus system you will be up at the crack of dawn!

Either that or just drive your own car to the Beach Club and then drive over to Epcot. The parking at Epcot would be free as long as you have your parking pass to the Contemporary in your window.

There is no Disney transportation that will get you to the BC for a 7:30 am ressie.

Take your car, then just drive over to the Epcot entrance. That would be your easiest bet.

I am not sure what they do in taxi's for little ones. sorry!

Thanks for all the help. I think I will just cancel the reservation. I was only going that early to get to Epcot before rope drop so I don't want to have to fool with moving our car over to Epcot.

They told us to take a bus to MGM and then walk to the BC. We ended up taking a taxi.

Any idea how long of a walk it is? We'd take a taxi but I don't know about with a 2 yr. old.

It's about a 10 - 15 min walk from MGM.

I think 10-15 min for that walk is optimistic, especially with a 2 year old in tow. For us, it's more of a 15-20 min walk.

Also, rope drop from that side of Epcot is going to take you through the World Showcase, not the front entrance of Epcot. If you are trying to be first to get to Soarin' or something like that, you will not be as it takes a few minutes longer to reach Future World coming through the International Gateway entrance.

Yeah, I would drive to the BC and then drive to Epcot. It's a quick drive! And you get to park for free at Epcot because you are a resort guest.

Taxi's are public transportation and as such do not require a car seat for little ones. You do not need one BUT if you want one...you can always call the front desk about 20-30 minutes before you need to leave and ask them to call you a cab and request that the cab have a car seat (Give them the time you would like the taxi to be there). Many cabs carry a seat in the trunk and one will be dispatched to you with a seat.

You may want to try asking about this on the transportation board. I'm pretty sure that I have seen on there that there are early morning buses for character meals...

the early morning buses are for breakfasts at the parks, there is no resort to resort transportation

IMO by far the easiest thing to do is - drive your car to Beach Club, have breakfast. Get back in your car and drive to the Epcot parking lot. This makes even more sense in view of the need for carseat. You won't be breaking any 'rules' and it will cost you nothing to park. Just because you are staying at a Disney resort doesn't mean you can't drive your car.

I would definitely go with either driving or a cab. The walk from DHS isn't that bad, but it is 20 minutes and there is no guarantee you can get to the DHS gates by 7AM in order to complete the walk. The taxi ride is probably about $10 or so, and is worth the investment vs. the hassle you would go through trying to juggle the bus schedule. Driving would be okay, but then you'd have to worry about driving back to the Contemporary. Take the cab and then you can monorail to your resort after a day at EPCOT. You can get to Soarin and all the other rides is the same amount of time, as the rope drop does hold up the groups on both sides and coordinates when you get in to Future World.

GOOD LUCK!

Taxi!

I have no idea why everyone's so resistant to using cabs, I guess it's hard to admit the "free" bus transportation isn't cutting it all the time and that you might have to spend some cash. For resort to resort, taxicab is the only way I travel.
