Transportation to Boardwalk from Contemporary

What is the best way to get to the Boardwalk from the Contemporary? I just made a PS at Spoodles with friends who are staying at the Contemporary. I thought that there was a bus that went from all the resorts to the Boardwalk, but I was told by the person I spoke with to get the PS that my friends would first have to get to the Transportation Center in order to get a bus to the Boardwalk. When I stayed at the Carribean Beach Resort last year, I'm almost certain that there was a direct bus to the Boardwalk. Thanks.

There's no bus to BW from the TTC. The only resort that had a direct bus to BW was Coronado Springs but I believe I heard that was discontinued. Your best bet would be to take the bus to MGM and walk or get the boat from there to BW. Or you could monorail to Epcot, walk back through the WS and out the International Gateway (would require Epcot admission). Or you could catch a BW bus from the Magic Kingdom. Another alternative would be to bus to Downtown Disney and take a BW bus from there.

I would think the quickest way would be to walk from the Contemporary right across the street to where all the buses pickup at Magic Kindgom to transport to other hotels and jump on the Boardwalk bus. You could also monorail to the MK and then take the BW bus. However it might be a little crowded because they are (unfortunately) still making 7 resorts all share that one bus.
You will have to stop at the Swan, Dolphin, Yacht club, Beach club and lastly Boardwalk.
I think the best way (depending upon your time of day to meet) would be to do as Debbie said and take the monorail to Epcot and do some park stuff there and then walk through the International Gateway and over to Spoodles.

Thanks Deb and Val. How long is the walk from the MGM to the Boardwalk compared to the walk from where the monorail stop is at in Epcot to the Boardwalk? If my friends don't feel like walking too much, sounds like the bus from the MK is a good alternative.

I think it would be shorter from MGM than all the way through Epcot. I've never walked from MGM to BW but I'd say about 15 minutes. They can also catch the boat from MGM to BW if they don't feel like walking, I'd say that's about 20 minutes. I think going through Epcot would be longer plus they have to go through bag check (if they have any) and the turnstiles. Walking from CR to MK shouldn't take that long, that might be the best way (are you going in the morning or the evening? If you are going in the evening, that may limit your options depending on when the parks close).

Another option would be to walk across the street to the MK bus stop from the Contemp and catch the BW/BC/Swan/Dolphin bus and get off at the Swan and walk over to the Boardwalk from there...

The PS at Spoodles is for 6:30 p.m. We're staying at BCV so it should be an easy walk for us. Actually we will have to do the suggestions here in reverse the evening before since we are meeting our friends at Chef Mickeys. The PS for Chef Mickey's is at 8:15 p.m. I guess we'll run into a lot of people leaving MK by the time we're done with our meal at Chef Mickeys and probably watch the fireworks from somewhere in that area.

We'll probably do the bus from MK back to BC since I think that this will be a non park day and would not want to use a hopper day just to walk through Epcot although it might be easier with everyone leaving MK around that time. Would it be easy to get a cab from the Contemporary at that time?

We stayed at BW and had to go to Chef Mickeys. Took the bus to MK and then walked to the Contemp.
