I am planning our schedule and was wondering how long I should allow to get from place to place. We are staying at the ASMo. In addition to our comings and goings from the parks, we are planning an evening at DD and an evening around the campfire at FWL. We will have a car. Should we drive? No, you have to pay to park, right?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Kinda depends on the time of year you will be visiting.

I've never stayed at the all-stars, but I'm under the impression that you will be much better off driving in many cases. Those resorts are very large and you may be forced to wait for more than one bus if you are travelling during a busy season.

The only park that stands out as one where you may consider using the busses is the Magic Kingdom. When visiting the MK you actually park several miles away at the Transportation and Ticket Center. Then you will need to take a tram or walk to the actual TTC, and hop onto either the monorail or boat to actaully reach the park. The MK busses, on the other hand, take you right to the gate.

Here's a link to transportation information on this very website that should answer your "how long" question:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/transportation/transportation1.cfm

Since you are staying at a WDW resort, you will receive free parking throughout the complex if you choose to drive.

thanks for the link Fearthisss! :wizard:

i remember it from our trip last year & really need it this year w/ PS's all over WDW! ::yes::

So, parking is free at Downtown Disney and the parks as long as you are staying on property? Looks like we will probably drive to everywhere except MK. Also, how late does transportation run?

Yes. They will ask you at check-in if you have a vehicle. If so they will provide a parking pass that expires on your check-out day. Keep the pass in the corner of your windshield and parking attendants will wave you by.

I believe that WDW transportation runs for 90 minutes after each individual park closes.

We stayed at the opposite end of the park (WL). I found we averaged about 1/2 hour (with little bus waiting time) for AK, etc. If I had a PS, I'd allow at least an hour.
