My family is planning our 1st Disneyland trip for this November. We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel & will be flying in/out of LAX. I'd appreciate suggestions for transportation to/from the airport other than Uber. There will be 4 of us traveling. Thanks!

Are there any kids under 8 years of age? (Car/Booster seat issues)

The easiest one, and allows kids is the Disneyland Express Airport Bus run by GreyLine.

Another option, a private town car, I like GoSedan and have used them multiple times. As part of the reservation, you would need to ask for car seats if needed.

The youngest is 10 so no booster seats needed :)

Look at car rental prices. May people often overlook this and sometimes can be cheaper than a round trip shuttle or car service.

Lansky is picking up my 4 kids from the airport, we used them last year and it was very smooth. With four of you, Lansky's will be just as much as if you take the Disney bus but it will be much more convenient. They are landing at 7:55 am so they would have had to wait another hour before they could get on the bus. This way they can jump right in the car and hopefully be at the Hotel before 9:00. I think there are a few other providers that people have mentioned here that also get good reviews.

We also made arrangements for JAG Transportation to take all 6 of us to and from Universal on Friday. We will have a truck but DH hates to drive and I thought their prices were very reasonable. It isn't much more than if we would have taken the grey line tour and this way we get to choose the times we wanted. I haven't used them yet, but they have wonderful reviews.

We used Lansky. Very convenient. We were met at bagggage claim by driver with our name displayed.
Took us about 45 min to get to Grand Californian.:flower3:

I am looking at the same thing right now. We had a rental car last fall as this was one stop on a road trip and honestly returning it at LAX was such a hassle that we both agreed we aren't driving at all this time around since we are going to just DL.

Is Lansky a car service then? Does car service run more/less than taxis? There are only two of us so the price per person vs for the entire car is something I need to take into account, but at the same time we have a longish commute to our home airport this time so I don't want to have to sit around LAX once we land. Also if you take the bus that someone mentioned it would then do multiple stops at resorts or is there one central hub area that they unload you at near the hotels?

OK, the key is flexible or pre-booking.

If you want to have transportation you can just walk to without contacting someone before you land, your main choices are taxis, the Disneyland Express Airport Bus and Prime Time Shuttle and SuperShuttle. These are the only services that can just pick you up without booking in advance.

If you want another option, you have to call/text/e-mail and book. Any of these services can't wait at the curb, they actually have a special lot for those vehicles and sit and wait for the call stating you have got your luggage and at the curb, including any other shuttle service other than Prime Time/SuperShuttle.

Companies like GoSedan and Lansky will park their town cars in the main central parking lot, and then come in with the "sign" and then help with the luggage and take you to the parking structure and leave. (Some drivers might help you to the curb, and then go retrieve the car and then pick you up at the curb.

GoSedan is currently offering a $10 discount for first timers.

Looking at the Lansky site, it says the prices include gratuity. Is that truly the case or would we still need to tip the driver?

It does include gratuity. Checked with the kids and they said the driver meet them inside and the car was waiting for them at the curb .... As soon as the walked outside?

Thank you! I've had experiences with other things that said "gratuity included" but the person still seemed to expect a tip. When working on a budget, it's helpful to know ahead of time :)

100% understand. My boys have been brought up to understand the importance of tipping and when it is appropriate. They felt a little strange also when I told them I had paid it so they jus asked when they were dropped off if their Mom had already paid the tip, to which the driver said yes and they said it wasn't awkward and didn't think the driver expected any more.

Now with the service we have booked for universal, they gave you the option to include a tip when I booked or when service was over. I opted for at the end because I always like to tip dependent on the service we received.

You will be fine not offering an additional tipping.

LAX has its own police department, and the law says "waiting or parking is prohibited curbside", and they do enforce it.

we also did not tip any more because it was included. I also asked if he had already been taken care of. He said yes. We did not require any extra special service so we thanked him at the end and that was it.
