We arrive at Disney World this Sunday! Woohoo!!! But I have a couple of questions regarding transportation between the resorts and parks.

We are staying at the AKL. What is the best way to get to the Contemporary Resort for Chef Mickeys? And what time should we leave the AKL for a 7:30am PS breakfast?

Also, we have a 5pm Hoop Dee Doo and plan to do MGM prior to that reservation. What is the best way to get from MGM to Fort Wilderness? And what time should we leave MGM for our 5pm reservation?

To get to Chef Mickey's, catch a MK bus. I believe they start running at 7 and I would be out at the bus stop by then. Once you are at the bus stop at MK, you can walk to CR from there in 5-10 minutes or walk over to the monorail and catch the resort monorail (not the one to TTC) to the CR which is the next stop. Tyler aka Chip n Dale Express used to be a bus driver and recommends telling your driver where you are going. Apparently, if possible the driver will sometimes take you directly to CR.

Or take a cab if you won't have a car.

To Hoop dee Doo, catch the Fort Wilderness bus from MGM. I would allow at least an hour. Pick up your tickets at Guest Services at AKL ahead of time. This will save you some time. You will be told to be there half an hour ahead but I think that is primarily to allow time for pictures....and probably also because it takes longer to get there than most people think.

Your best bet is to take the bus to MK and then take the monorail over to Contemporary. I would leave by 7. Also since you are going that early and if there is not many on the bus, ask the driver if he can drop you off at the Contemporary. That happened to us on one our trips. It saved a lot of time and thanked the driver immensly.

For the Hoop De Doo from MGM. Take the bus to Wilderness Lodge (unless there is a bus for Fort Wilderness, I am not sure). I would leave MGM by 4 to make sure you make it in ample time. If you get there early you can always walk around. We were there a couple of years ago for Mickey's Backyard BBQ and there was a petting farm.
