We have only been to POP and OKW so far. The buses for OKW were practically empty in August and the stops weren't way in the back at the parks like the ones for POP. We are trying CSR this year, partly based on the fact that most people say the buses are never crowded. My DH just hates to stand on the buses.

Where is the option for "none of the above"? ;)

Seriously, transportation is equally poor at all the resorts.

Definitely CSR! Quick rides to all the parks, close bus stops at the parks and it's not shared with any other resort.

Of all the resorts we've stayed at, the Poly was the best. It's on the monorail line, there are buses, motor launches, and you can walk to the TTC. Only CR comes close as far as transportation options. The only difference being that instead of being able to walk to the TTC, you can walk to MK.

Oh now. . .I love the free transportation. . .it was hard at first cause I am from the west coast and only have to get to the parks transportation wise. . .after that it is walking all the way.

At wdw, there is transportation and there is "transportation". . .Okay, here is my take. . .Epcot area is great cause you can visit 2 parks by either walking or taking the water taxi. . .no waiting, always sit down or walk, no issues. . .BUT you say you want to go to MK? well, you can either walk or water taxi to Epcot, take the monorail to TTC and switch to the MK monorail, or take the bus. . .The bus for Boardwalk stops very close to the main entrance so no issues there, and yeah, it shares with the other epcot resorts on dropoff but hey, they are all really close to each other so no issues. . .at night if you watch wishes or stay after wishes, you will HAVE to take the bus back. . .Or you want to go to AK. . .same thing. . .

From ASMU and POP. . .every park you must take a bus. . .at peak times (i.e. mornings after breakfast and just before rope drop. . .and evenings after fireworks) The lines for POP busses are HUGE. . .yes they only stop at pop but you could wait an hour or more just to get ON a bus. At the All Stars, each resort can have its own bus and you can take ANY of them. . .yes you may have to walk to one of the other resorts if you take a bus that is not to your resort, but it is NOT a huge walk. . .

IMO, I prefer an Epcot location as Epcot and DHS are my favorite parks. . .

Poly has very good monorail transportation....although the buses can be hit and miss at times. CSR has very good bus transportation. We had friends staying there and they commented on how they rarely had to wait.

The monorail resorts b/c if the buses are crowded you can walk, boat (then walk), or monorail to your resort if you are in MK, EPCOT monorail, and besides when we stayed at GF the transportation was really good we hardly ever waited for a bus

Polynesian but I didn't vote as it wasn't an option by itself.

The only resorts that have an advantage regarding transportation -- I define that as ease of getting to parks -- are the monorail and Epcot resorts. Probably the Poly has the best because of the monorail and proximity to the TTC -- for me though, the Epcot resorts are better because of my personal bias towards Epcot and more recently (because of new attractions) MGM.

Sorry about that,:( I only had twelve slots.

Oh, I do understand that and wasn't trying to be critical. But transportation options at the Polynesian are different than the other monorail resorts due to the short walk to the TTC. The other two resorts need to make a resort monorail circuit to access the Epcot monorail.

In addition, when returning from DAK or DHS, you can hop whichever bus comes first....TTC or Polynesian.

We often split between the Polynesian and BCV. The Polynesian is as easy to Epcot as is BCV. The few countries closest to the IG are quicker from Epcot resorts but that's about it.

To me, the "best" transporation is the "easiest" transporation. We have twins and a double jogger, so a bus-only resort is not great for us. My vote goes to BC first because we can walk to 2 parks. Next vote goes to Poly because there is a direct monorail (from TTC, so no transfers) to 2 parks.

Not sure why you'd do all that to get to MK. Why not just take the bus from the BWK area to either MK or AK? That would be faster.

While I do think Poly has it's obvious advantages - and price tag....

I think AKL and WL are fairly good compromises. AKL might be a ways to MK, and only offers bus - but there's only one stop, and the buses are fairly frequent. WE tried WL this past spring, and it was better than I thought. In the am, the boat didn't go to Ft. W - it went directly to MK. That makes a big difference!

As far as mods vs. value - I don't think the values are a step down from the mods. (except that the values are usually the furthest bus stops) I think the mods are the worst for transportation!
