Hello DIS Friends,
I am trying to figure out how we are going to get from MCO to our Disney resort. We have two families traveling together(8 in total) and we will be staying at one of the value resorts probably Pop Century. We won't be renting a vehicle as we will be staying on site. Does disney have a shuttle to their resorts or should I be checking out a service like Mears?
Hoping someone can help. Thanks!

Disney does not have shuttles, but there are a number of good reputable transportation companies. We never rent a car, and have used Tiffany Town Car since '99. They have always been prompt and good to us. Quicksilver is good as well, I hear.

Any question, just ask.

P.s. Tiffanytowncar.com is there website so you can get an idea of cost.

Since you are not planning on renting a vehicle, why not book a limo!

If you take Mears, you might have numorous stops before you get to POP!

Check out mousesavers for info.

I agree with Scratch's limo suggestion! There's lots of room in there plus most of them have a TV with VCR/DVD so you can watch a movie on the way to the resort. I've used Cartier Towncar twice and they've been great! You can also check out the Transportation Board which has a lot of comments on the various towncar companies.

I agree with everyone. Go with a limo or a car service and ask for a van.

You can book a return service. It will be a lot faster, comfortable and convenient for all of you.

I've used " Your ride" before. They were good. Don't know what they're like now. But there are many others to choose from.

As bunnyfoo mentioned. Lots of info. on the transportation board on all the car services.

We used Tiffany Towncar on our recent trip, with a party of 5 adults and a toddler. We got a van. Even with a minor screw up (they weren't there at MCO to pick us up), they were there within 10 minutes, and did that all important 20 minute grocery stop for us so we could load up. They help you with your bags and are most pleasant, because they are really owner-operators of their vehicles, just under the Tiffany umbrella. Highly recommend them.

Plus, if you shuttle bus with Mears, you will actually be paying more!!!

Thank you everyone for these very helpful suggestions. One concern we had was not being able to pick up a few things at a grocery store. I don't want to have to pay the resort/park prices for things like water. I would not have thought of getting our trans service to stop on the way.
Thanks again.

I say rent a van from a car rental company - 1 way trip from MCO and drop off at the Dolphin the next day. Use the van to do a little grocery shopping or whatever you need the first day and then drop off at the dolphin the next morning (National has a centre there). There is no extra fee to drop off at the hotel after renting from MCO. Then take the park shuttles from the Dolphin to wherever you are going that day. It will probably work out cheaper and more convenient as you don't have to rely on a driver to stop for groceries, etc.

It cost me $27 each way for the 1 day rental. X 2 = $54. Limo van will cost much more than that.

I do this every time and do the same thing on the way back. I love the freedom and convenience. Depending on your return flight time though, it could be a bit tricky. Also, room for luggage might be a concern if you do have 8 people. I don't know what sizes of vans are available. Something you may want to look into. We went in May for 3 weeks and managed 4 adults + 3 weeks worth of luggage in a mid-size - anything is possible!

I've done the shuttle and limo thing before and I just prefer picking myself up and dropping myself off.

I would never suggest anything else. I really like having the car for the 1st and last days 'cause I'm in control of everything from and to the airport. To each their own though.

We are 8 as well and renting a van from murray hill. It is $95 return and includes a 30 min grocery stop. Read alot of great reviews on the transportation board about them.
