Hi everyone,

My husband and I booked a DVC stay at Grand Californian for Thurs March 3 - Wed March 9, 2022. We only intend to really visit DL/DCA and not other parts of SoCal. We'd like to do 4 days in the parks: Fri/Sat/Mon/Tues and Sun as pool/Downtown Disney. We are traveling from EWR and are thinking to fly into SNA. But have some logistical considerations:
- Would you recommend flying on Wed March 2 (to account for possible snow in NJ) or fly on Thurs March 3?
- If we fly to SNA on Wed the 2nd, should we just hang at a local (cheaper) hotel? We would head to Grand Californian on the 3rd.
- Our son will be 3 in March. What's the likelihood transportation to/from airport will have a carseat?

Thank you for any insights!

1) I've lived in NJ for 20+ years and have flown out of EWR several times around late Feb/early March, so I would let the possibility of snow delay your trip. The airport does a fairly good job at traffic control when it snows and basically takes a blizzard type condition for actual delays\cancellations to occur.

2) The pool area at the Grand is amazing but the one thing that it lacks is water slides like Disneyland Hotel has. With a 3 year old, I'd recommend a cheap local hotel that has an amazing pool area for you son to enjoy on March 2nd. Maybe the Howard Johnson, several other close by hotels with cool splash areas and slides for little kids too. Then move to the Grand on March 3rd.

3) There's a great thread on airport transportation and several car services can offer including it during pickup/drop off.

I wouldn’t move hotels with a 3 yo. I would look at staying off site at a more fun pool. Have you considered that? There are a couple that are at least as close as the DLH. But of course none offer a DCA entrance. ;)

We always bring our kids car seats on the plane. Personally I won’t use a seat with unknown history which rules out transportation provided seats.

This is helpful - thank you. We are DVC members, so we're using our points for the Grand Californian. My little guy is not a big swimmer so I don't think the pool will be an issue for him. Appreciate your feedback on car seats!
