Transportation-LAX to GCH

This first timer is looking for some transportation advice. DH and I will be flying into LAX to visit DLR prior to a business conference in Palm Desert. We need transportation from LAX to DLR. I read the very helpful thread regarding options but am looking for recommendations as well. Is a taxi a sound choice and is the price comparable to the other options? Basically, we are looking to keep the cost around $100, including tips if possible.

We will be renting a car from Hertz location at 700 Convention Way, Anaheim, CA at the end of our DLR stay for one day with a return to JW Marriott in Palm Desert. The cheapest I could find was $120 and fortunately my company will be paying for it. (Most rental agencies are sold out of cars.) Can anyone confirm that 700 Convention Way is a safe walking distance for GCH? It appears so based on my internet research.

Disneyland Resort Express is $48 round trip from LAX to DL, not sure what the one way price is.
