I am looking for information on transportation while inside the parks/resorts. We will be staying at POR in September. Our bus will pick us up and take us where? Downtown Disney? Then we pick up a bus from DTD to the parks or other resorts?

Also have the riverboat option from our resort. Where does it go?

Can someone explain the monorail too?

If there is a thread that you can reference me to, feel free...I must be blind because I just can't locate one!:confused3

You will be able to get a bus at POR for whichever park you want to go to. You just have to watch the rolling signs on front of the bus to see where they are going. Each park as an area for resort buses, so at the end of the day you walk to that area and find the sign for your resort and just wait for the bus. The monorail runs from the large parking lot for Magic Kingdom, if you were to drive and park. You would get on at the TTC and take it to the Magic Kingdom with stops at the Poly and Grand Floridian then to the park. On exiting park the monorail stops at the Contemporary and then TTC. There is also a resorts only monorail that stops at the Poly, GF, Kingdom and CR. At the TTC you can also get a monorail that will run over to Epcot and back.
I think the boat at the POR takes you to DTD and back. Hope this helps.

There are no buses to/from DTD from/to any of the WDW theme parks.

So...From POR, I can take a bus to any of the parks...easy enough. If I am going to be eating dinner at another resort, I will need to take the bus from my resort to the park closest to that resort and catch a bus or monorail to the the resort where we'll be dining.

Ex:

Ohana
Leave POR on bus headed to MK. Take monorail to Polynesian.
Or, do I have to go to the TTC?
Do buses service monorail resorts?

Boma
Leave POR on bus headed to AK. Pick up a bus from AK park to AK Lodge.

Hmmm...am I getting the right idea?

Yes,

Or you can go from a resort to DTD and then switch to a bus to a different resort.

Or--the fastest and easiest way to get from resort to resort is to take a cab.

you got it right to Ohana
Leave POR on bus headed to MK. Take monorail to Polynesian or boat from MK
do I have to go to the TTC you can walk from ttc to polynesian

Or, do I have to go to the TTC? No - the resort monorail from the MK will stop at the CR first, then the TTC after the CR and before the Poly - stay on it. Only WDW buses servicing the TTC are those for the AK, DHS and SoG.

Do buses service monorail resorts? No - not from the MK
