My family and I (6 adults) are going on the Wonder in January 2008
and I have a couple of questions for all you veteran cruisers.

It seems to be a good idea to fly into Orlando the day before the cruise and spendthe night so we can get on the ship as soon as possible and/or don't
stress about delayed flights etc?

Would you stay at a WDW resort for the 1 night? Or somewhere else cheaper?

Then getting to the ship, with 6 people are we best to take a
bus/limo service vs pay the $69 each for the DCL transportation?

If we do stay at a WDW resort for 1 night and we choose to use Disney transportation can we get picked up from our resort to go to the port?

Or is this just silly and we should use FL tours (or another van company) because we will get there sooner, on our timeline?

FL Tours says they will pick us up at a WDW resort and take us to the cruise and then pick us up and take us to the airport, but what if part of our group is going back to WDW when we get off the cruise?

Thanks in advance!!

We booked our first cruise recently for Spetember of next year, but I have already done a lot of research on the subject......We are planning on flying in the night before and staying near the airport or the port being that we cannot bear the thought of staying at a disney hotel for the night and not going to disney (we are leaving that for after the cruise). Also, there are cheaper places to stay. We are planning on using FL tours to pick us up and take us to the port. Just to give you an idea, there are 10 of us which fit in a van and it would cost $200 total for all of us and they even allow for a 30 minute stop off at a grocery and/or liquor store. I would check FL tours directly for the cost on the way back. Even if your party is split, I am sure they can accomodate you.

From what I have heard from other DIS boarders and others who have taken the cruise, using FL tours is also better because you ahve control over what time you get there and leave.........if you do the transfers with DCL, you are at their mercy.

Hope this helps and let me know how you make out !!

we are renting a car ..worked out to be the most economical..sharing with another couple ...

We were contemplating the same issues. We finally decided to stay at Pop because we wanted to keep the Disney theme going & take a car service. A car service is cheaper than Disney's transportation. We didn't want a rental car because we felt we didn't want the hassle of returning it & then possible even having to take a shuttle to the port. Too much work for us to start our vacation.

The only thing I'm struggling with, is my favorite part of a WDW vacation is sitting on the ME bus & watching that video etc. So I'm kinda bummed cause I feel like I'll miss out on that, but I'd rather get to the port early & relaxed & not with a whole bus load of people all arriving at the same time.
