Transportation from WL or CS

We are planning our trip for the last week in February. We stayed at FW Cabins last time, and Poly the time before that. To save $$ we are considering staying at the Wilderness lodge or Coronado Springs. Both resorts look fantastic. However, as a VIP (very impatient person), I'm concerned about the bus situation. We will be going mainly to MK and Epcot. How are the crowds that time of year, and does it make the bus waits long?? Our kids are 4 and 7, so they can handle a little more waiting than when they were younger. I don't know what discounts I'll be able to find, but I'm not sure I can justifiy $100+ extra for the convenience of staying on the monorail. We are also considering splitting our stay (6 or 7 nights total) between 2 resorts. What do you think?

I'd go for the Wilderness Lodge since you can get to MK via boat and Epcot via monorail. We last stayed at PO-R and have decided we're not bus people. We enjoy the convenience of boats and monorails, it's just quicker. If you can get the Wilderness Lodge for a decent price, your time will be spent more wisely than waiting on a bus stop.

CSR does not share their buses with other resorts. Also, since it is a convention resort, the buses are usually less crowded too.

You have picked our two very favorite resorts to choose from! We found the transportation at both to be excellent.

We loved taking the boat to the MK from the WL. It was such a wonderful, peaceful way to start the day. We also loved being able to take the boat to the Contemporary for dinner or to Fort Wilderness to explore over there. Bus service was good, too. We didn't have any problems or long waits. We were there during a really slow time of year, though. The only thing we didn't really like was sharing a bus with the Poly and Grand Floridian. It wasn't a big deal, though. Especially since the WL was always the first picked up (so we always got a seat) and the first dropped off (so we didn't have a long ride home).

However, we feel that the bus service at CS was the best we have encountered at any Disney resort! Vert fast and efficient and you don't share a bus with any other resorts. My husband still absolutely raves about the bus transportation at CS.

Like I said, you have picked our two very favorite resorts. Both have such amazing atmosphere and attention to detail! Both have great pools, recreation options, landscaping, etc. It's a tough choice! We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge again this year because we are going at Christmas time, and no place else can compare to the lodge at Christmas! However, we will definately be back to Coronado Springs in the future. We loved it so much! I don't think you can go wrong with either choice

We felt the buses to and from CSR were amazing! We often passed by hoards of people in bus lines to their resorts from Magic Kingdom, and in my opinion, though pretty and relaxing, I feel the boat to WL is awfully slow. We never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus to arrive at CSR to pick us up and there always seemed to be one waiting when we were ready to leave. The best part? Due to conventions the buses were often empty or filled comfortably b/c people so many CSR guests weren't going to parks. We also loved CSR! Highyl recommend!!

I agree with the previous posters! The buses at CSR were awesome. We really didn't have any complaints during our stay and that was at Christmas. When we stayed at WL, I liked being able to take the boats and being close to the monorail. Either one has its own advantages.

I'm sure experiences can vary from week to week, but we found the transportation to/from CSR and the parks to be way above what we experienced at the WL.

In fact, my biggest complaint about WL was the transportation. We did not find it quick or convenient. The trip back from the MK at night was beyond horrible.
