First timers to Universal.
How do we get from WDW to Universal?
2 adults and 1 three year old
Thank you!

Since you’ll need a car seat, a car service like Tony Hinds, Tiffany Town Cars or Happy Limo might be a good option. I wouldn’t do a shuttle as the per person charge costs more than a private service and it’s less convenient. Only time they work well price wise is if just 1 person.

We've used Tony Hinds before and he's great. Because we're traveling with fewer people this time, we'll probably Uber over to Universal. There's a $10 charge for a carseat with Uber. I'll probably take an inflatable booster seat and save the $20.

Aside from the car seat need of OP, is there a reason people prefer organizing car service rather than just grabbing a taxi at their hotel?

I think it's just personal preference. Tony Hinds has a van that holds 10 and has car seats available. Many use the car service as airport-hotel-airport and are charged a flat fee for all transportation. Depending on one's needs and size of party, the car service can be a good price. I heard about Tony Hinds here and have used him twice and plan to use him on our trip next week because it's a short trip and we don't want to rent a car and pay for parking.

I’m a fan of Uber or Lyft vs taxis because I prefer them and their much lower price. :)

.

I can see this for larger parties and multiple legs. We’re using DME to from AKL Kidani but think we’ll just taxi for our Universal stay at PBH so we’re not “tied” to a specific pick up time.

I know Uber/Lyft are less expensive but we haven’t adopted those services yet (but of data privacy paranoia).

We use a mix of Tony Hinds and Uber/Taxi. If we don't want a set schedule, we'll grab an Uber or taxi when we're ready to leave. I will say that having a scheduled service like Tony Hinds when you arrive at the airport is a benefit because either him or his guy will meet you at baggage claim and assist with luggage. They are also parked in the temp parking of the parking ramp which is a quick walk from baggage claim at MCO, so it is more convenient than going to the taxi stand or Uber area.

Those sound like nice benefits for using Tony from MCO and would consider using them if going direct to Universal (we’re going to WDW first and fine using DME).
