My husband and I will be at WDW in May. We will not be renting a car for this trip. What is the best method of transportation back and forth to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure?

In the past, we've used Mears. They offer service from all the WDW hotels. I can't remember the cost as it was a long time ago, but I do remember thinking that it was quite reasonable.

mears is $14 rt per person.
it runs on a schedule though.
when you are at disney, have the concierge desk give you the number for the mears shuttle, call the night before. they will give you a pick up time.

they will also give you a return pick up time.
you don't want to use mears though. you have to go with their schedule and you might not have a full day at universal parks then.

if you take a taxi and go when it is not rush hour, you could do it for under $30 a way. the longer you are in the taxi, will add to the price. so avoid rush hour times when you travel back and forth from disney.

if you want to go real cheap, take the lynx bus from dtd to sea world and get the taxi from there. lynx public bus is $1.50 a person.

town car service: call and ask the best deal you can get for a round trip service.

taxi and town car lets you decide when you want to be picked up for the universal parks.
if you do mears, you might want to stay longer if you are having a great time but won't be able to since you will be locked in to a set return time back.
if you rent a car from the car service center at disney, it would cost you the gas and the parking at universal. think parking is about $11 now.
it was 10 but think it goes up for high season.

Mac you didn't tell them how long the lynx bus will take them.

well, they asked for options....
i took the lynx bus once and it took an hour for me.
transferred from seaworld to the other bus. #50 runs on the hour and the other on the half hour when we took it.

but if they only take the bus to sw, they could taxi the rest of the way for a cheaper fare.

just rent a car, well worth it. or rent a town service or do the cab
you want to do the parks, if you go the most direct way, less stress and more time to enjoy UO

Sorry to jump in on this thread, but how long is it from DTD to Seaworld? I would love to do a day there with my dd this July.

I'm also doing a US trip this year and need to go to DTD to spend some Disney Rewards that I have left on my Visa and that's the only placle I know I can use them, at the DTD big disney store they have there...

I AM going to have my own car.. is it hard to find your way from, lets say, US to DTD if you're driving yourself? I heard, well I read that the DTD parking lot is free? true? Is it far?

I know i know, questions questions questions... i dont have my hotel booked just yet (going first week of June).. still waiting on a phone call to see if I can get a deal at a hilton branch... i dont know how much more waiting I can do! I want to know now! As I will have tons more questions then!

Neither Seaworld nor USF is far from WDW/DTD. Pretty much a straight shot on I-4 (we get off at Sand Lake Road for USF and take it over to Turkey Lake Road).
