Transportation from VWL to airport

For an upcoming trip to VWL we have made plans with family to pick us up at the airport but was wondering if there are any options for a one way trip back to the airport. We have used the Mears shuttle on several occasions, do they offer a one way trip? I also thought I saw a thread on one of the boards that Disney might be offering free transportation from the airport for guests but I can't find the thread now, was I just dreaming that?

Yes, you can do one way. I am not sure of the price....You call them and schedule it. We did this once, we called the day we checked in and did not have any problems.

You could also go with a Town Car service. We use FLTours (Link) . They are a Dis-Board sponsor and wonderful. Unlike Mears that will take you from resort to resort as they pick up guests, FLTours will pick you up at the time you tell them and take you right to where you want to go.

If your trip is after May 5, 2005, you can use Disney's Magical Express - free transportation from the airport to Disney resorts.

If you're traveling sooner, you can use one way transport from Mears or any of the towncar services. You might want to contact <a href="http://www.fltours.com">FL Tours</a>, one of the sponsors of this site.

We walked out the door at BWV and into a waiting cab. Cost to get to the airport- $50.

Thanks for the info, infortunately my next trip is before May 5 so I will check into FL Tours since they are a gacious sponsor of these boards. But I also have another trip scheduled for this summer, where would I be able to find more info on the Disney Magical Express (such as how to book, etc.)?

I also asked member services of they have any transportation to/from airport, and they said yes. You could book a van type (not mears, and would bring you directly each way...she said a cross betweena taxi/van) that would pick you up/bring you back...it is $45 each way (from SSR/BWV) and a grocery stop for .86cents a minute or $22.50 an hour. I had never seen this mentioned before, and wonder if it is something new. MS said to book it at 30 days out with your flight information. Ms had to look up information, because she said they had just gotten it.

We have used a town car service called Quicksilver many times in the past, and have been very pleased with their service. They do have an internet site - Quicksilver.com. Very reasonable also.

We called Tiffany Town Car the day before for a return from VWL to MCO last week. It was $55 one way plus tip. Service was great, car was there 20 minutes before our scheduled pickup time. Mears is $17 per person and we had 3 people, so it was about the same but much more comfortable.

You might also check the Alamo website to see what it might cost to pick up a car at the WDW car care center. You can then return it at the airport lot which is located right at the airport.

Just wanted to mention that we got stood up by Florida Tours. We were left there waiting for 45 minutes, and we couldn't get thru on their phone number. Fortuneately, a Tiffany Towne car was there waiting EARLY for a family, and he had enough time to drive us to the airport and return to the resort for the family that he was waiting for. He was wonderful, and we have used Tiffany several times after that. They are also cheaper than Florida Tours--once we did manage to contact Florida Tours(from home) they maintained that they did go to the resort AFTER our plane's departure time, even though I had the confirmation email listing the time they were supposed to pick us up at the resort.
