Hi everyone!
We arrive next Thursday for the Star Wars marathon, so excited! My husband and I arrive at 5:00 pm and I need to get to Disneyland Resort by 8:00 pm to register for the marathon (my 5K is the next morning) so I need everything to be on time. What's the easiest way to get there? We do not want to do a car rental.

Also, my daughter and son in law arrive at 10:00 that night, can anyone recommend a shuttle service?

We all leave at the same time, would it be cheaper to just take a taxi from Howard Johnson (we are staying there) on the way back to the airport?

Thanks!

Kim

A taxi would be $100+ one way. Don't worry if you miss packet pick up on Thursday, you can get your bib that morning before the race, then go back to the expo on Friday after the race to get your shirt. I say this because every year from about 6pm until the expo closes people complain that it takes an hour to get off the freeway and into the structure. Probably the best option is going to the DL Express by Grayline because you can hop off at any stop and walk to DLH to get your bib. A taxi/rideshare/shuttle is going to get stuck in traffic, but since the express bus makes multiple stops you'd at least be able to decide if you need to get off early and walk.

That's reassuring to know that if things go wrong I can still pick up my bib the morning before the race, I wasn't aware of that! What is the Grayline? Is that just a regular bus service? Don't care how I get there as long as it doesn't cost a fortune (taxi...) and gets me there on time. Thanks!

What airport are you flying into? If it's LB or SNA a taxi will be about $45.

I used Lansky's car service recently, it probably wasn't the cheapest option but I was really pleased with their service. Our plane was delayed by two hours, and the driver still offered to make the grocery stop (we had requested In-n-Out Burger). Since we were two hours late to enjoying our vacation we just headed to Disneyland. The driver was friendly and made a little small talk but wasn't obnoxious. I would use them again.

Just checked out some of the links and LAX to hotels around Disney is close to or over $100 each way. That certainly makes me glad we are renting a car!! This time we managed to rent a car using air miles as well. With our CAD $ struggling like it is, every bit of savings helps. Have fun in your race!!

Not sure what airport your using but a trip from/to SNA is $40 each way regardless of luggage or number of people.

I'm not seeing where you told us what airport you are flying into. Since there are 5 airports inside an hour away from Disneyland, it's an important thing to know.

We have never been able to get a flat rate. It has only been by meter for us. Even when I asked.
really? wow.. we get it everytime.. the guy standing out the front with a clip board gets us a cab.. we say flat rate and he says yes.. we get in .. say flat rate and the cabbie says yup and off we go..
thats from both SNA and Long beach..
