Transportation from San Diego to DLR

I'm thinking of taking a cruise out of San Diego but would like to spend a few days seeing Disneyland between flying in and going on the cruise. I'll probably stay at a "good neighbor" hotel so I guess I don't have to have transportation while I'm visiting. I'm wondering if, because of the distance between San Diego and Anaheim, a rental car would be my best bet or are there shuttles from the airport to DRL and back to the cruise port. Any ideas?

You could take the Amtrak train. It travels along the pacific coast. Nice scenery. We are planning on doing that for our '09 trip. There is an Aneheim stop which isn't too far from DL. It looks to be a short cab ride.

To take the Amtrack, you will need either a cab or you can take the bus a short distance from the SD airport to downtown SD to catch the train. Then again from Anaheim, you would have to take a cab to Disneyland. Another option would be to check some shuttle services like Cloud 9. Depending on how many of you there are, getting a cheap rental car may be the best bet.
