we are booking a trip at disney resort from Jan23-28 and will take the DME to the resort. We do, however, need to find a good deal on transportation from the resort to port c, then back to aiport. Who do you guys recommend? Does anyone on these boards ever get together and share the costs of transportation?

Thanks,
Debbie

Not sure how many are in your party. Larger parties a van/limo usually works out to less money. If only 2 DCL transport is usually a better bet service wise (they transfer your bags to the airport on the way home for you) and cost wise. The private car service you can dictate pick up times, stops, etc. Not sure about cost sharing. Check on your cruises roll call thread, you might be able to team up with someone there. Good luck.

www.happylimo.com worked well for us and there is a discount code on www.mousesavers.com for them.

I am making a big assumption that you are cruising with Disney. If so, I would go to the Cruise Meet thread and see who will be on your cruise and if they are staying at WDW and would be willing to share transportation costs.

DCL does pick up from most moderate and deluxe resorts. DCL does not pick up from Value resorts. As part of the DCL transfer ($69 round trip WDW/Port & Port/Airport per person) your luggage transfer to the ship is included. If you fly on a participating airline, you can check in for your flight and have your luggage transported to the airport by DCL after your cruise as part of your DCL transfer cost.

Have you considered booking the ground transfers through Disney Cruise LIne. We did that and for $134 (for both of us) we get transfer from airport to resort (which I hear is free anyway) but then from resort to cruiseport and from cruiseport to airport. We though the price was a pretty good deal and we just took it with our package.

Thanks. Friend was told they had to. Have to go back and get more info.

Hope it wasn't their TA that told them that. Here is a link.

Guests Arranging Independent Air Travel

Ground Transfers are available for purchase to Guests who make independent air arrangements. To add transfers to your cruise package, call (800) 951-3532 at least 75 days prior to vacation commencement date. Please be prepared to provide your inbound and outbound flight details.

To assist you in planning and to provide ample time for travel logistics, we recommend the following flight time guidelines:

Latest Orlando International Airport Flight Arrival on Embarkation Day — 1:45 p.m.
Earliest Flight Departure from the Orlando International Airport on Debarkation Day — 12:30 p.m.
Ground Transportation

Prior to the start of your vacation, you will receive a Documentation Packet that includes special luggage tags. Attach the tags to your luggage and bring the included vouchers with you to the airport.

At your hometown airport, check your luggage as you normally would at the start of a trip.

Upon landing at Orlando International Airport, skip baggage claim and proceed to the Disney Welcome Center. Disney will collect your luggage and deliver it to your stateroom. (International Guests arriving into Orlando must first claim their luggage and clear Customs and Immigration. Once cleared, luggage will then be returned to the main baggage claim where Disney Cruise Line will collect it and deliver it to the Guest's stateroom.)

From the Disney Welcome Center, you're off to your Disney Cruise Line ship! Board a deluxe, air-conditioned motor coach, sit back and relax as we chauffeur you to the Disney Cruise Line Terminal at Port Canaveral.

After your cruise has ended, return back to Orlando International Airport in a deluxe air-conditioned motor coach.

This person told my daughter that it was Disney that she talked to. I will refer her to this thread. Thanks a bunch.
