I wouldn't walk the pathway from MGM to EPCOT or vice versa. That's quite a little trek if your feet are tired. The boat will probably take longer, but it sure is nice to sit and watch the scenery and recharge the tootsies.
MK to EPCOT - the bus will be faster than the monorail. If you try the monorail, you have to get off one of them at the TTC and catch the other monorail there. If either monorail is slow that day, you're in for a big wait.
I avoid the TTC as much as possible. Bus service to the TTC is almost non-existent now. If you're at the TTC, but want to catch a bus to another park, walk about 150 feet to the left of the TTC to the Polynesian bus stop and catch a park bus there. The TTC is mostly just a place now to switch from monorail to monorail or monorail to ferry boat or vice versa.
Also, I see no reason not to take a direct bus to MK from AK. Does the MK bus from AK stop at TTC or something? If the MK bus goes straight to the front of MK, as most other bus routes do, I'd rather just get on the bus that goes straight there.
The only park-to-park routes that you can feasibly do that don't waste a TON of time are:
- MK to EPCOT or vice versa via monorail. But keep in mind the above-noted caveat that you have to switch monorails at the TTC.
Budget 30-45 minutes for this trip if the monorails are both reasonably on time, which isn't a given recently.
- MGM to EPCOT or vice versa via the boats, which is actually quite nice. There's no switching to do or anything, but you do have to stop at all the resorts along the EPCOT resort area. It's a 20-minute ride or so.
Any other combinations of park-to-park it's really best just to take the buses.
