Any information would be greatly appreciated! We are planning a trip to Disney in May 2011, staying at POR. We are planning on taking the train (mom doesn't fly!) and will not rent a car. I know there are shuttle services and taxis available at the station but not sure if we just get there and get on one or how that works. There are 4 of us and our luggage. Thanks alot for any info. :)

I am actually looking for that same answer. It seems everyone caters to MCO (airport)....I need a shuttle company for our trip in September.:confused3

Glad to find some more of you ridin the rails! You can call Mears to plan a taxi or town car BUT I would suggest the car rental. It is not much more to have a car for the whole week than it will cost you to get to and from the train station:wizard: Usually at least $50 for one way. I will bump my train report up so you can read my numbers.I can help shop around for discounts for you if you give me dates:thumbsup2

Awesome..........we check in on the 11th of September and check out on the 18th of September. We are excited about taking the train.:cool1::banana:

A quick peek for the week looks like $176 before taxes but I will work on it tomorrow and see what I can find.:wizard:

Thank you so much for the suggestions. Not interested in renting a car because we will be there for 11 days which is a long time to rent a car. Also have family meeting us there with a large SUV the next day. We will be there April 30th-May 10th, 2011>

I am in a similar situation. I called Mears and priced out the trip from Amtrak Kissimmee to All Star Music. The price is $53 one way, it is $83 one way from Amtrak Orlando to All Star Music. So, I will travel to the Kissimmee station instead of Orlando. The Amtrak ticket is the same price for Orlando or Kissimmee. I simply called and they went over all of my options, quick and easy! I haven't booked it yet.

I didn't realize the trained stopped in Kissimmee. I assume it is closer that is why it is cheaper.

yes-if you are getting a taxi or car to pick you up, go to Kiss not Orlando (since it is closer to resorts). Amtrak doesn't care where you get off:confused3
