I know that the Nick hotel is very close to DTD and we would like to go to DTD in the evening for dinner, but we will not have a car. Aside from calling a taxi each time, is there any other public transportation that is easy to use and cheap? Any and all help would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Nick Hotel is off by itself. It's not within walking distance of anything, and as far as I know it's not on a city bus line. Taking a cab back and forth to DTD will cost you a fortune. For that reason I always advise people to RENT A CAR when staying at Nick. Otherwise you're basically stuck at the hotel and will end up eating all your meals there, etc.

I know that the Nick hotel is very close to DTD ...

I just wanted to add that this isn't correct... Nick Hotel is not at all close to DTD, or really to anything else. Sounds like someone gave you wrong info, I'm afraid.

I had to rent a car cause I went from POR to Nick for a night. It stands alone you will have to take a cab or public transportation or rent a car for 1 day.

Thanks for your responses. We will be spending our days at Universal Studios/ IOA and Sea World, so we can eat some meals there and not at the Nick hotel. Does anyone know what the shuttle schedule is like to those 3 parks from the Nick hotel? I am wondering if we can do a dinner at Citywalk and still have time to catch the hotel shuttle back at night/ evening. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks!

Mary and all, any recommendations for a car service or other transportation from MK to a hotel on universal blvd (rosen shingle creek)? My son is there tonight and going again tomorrow. His HS is in Orlando for a competition. Thanks:)

We stayed at Nick Hotel last Nov. and if I remember correctly there was a bus returning from Universal Studios at around 7 pm, which was one hour after the park closed. We did end up taking a taxi to DTD from Nick hotel, and I think it was around $8 or $10.

We just stayed at the Nick Hotel in April. It's very close to WDW/DTD by car (not walking distance), but very close. They have shuttles to several places so you may want to check with their very knowledgeable guest services desk when you arrive.

You'll want a rental car staying at Nick...... While its a convenient location, its really near nothing.
