Transportation from Miami Port to MIA airport?

what is the best (affordable, easy, quick) transportation from the cruise port in Miami to the Miami airport?

On the way there we are staying at a hotel, so we are using hotel shuttle service, but we need to get from the port back to the airport as quickly as possible as our flight leaves at 1245.

A taxi would run $24-$30 and is probably your best bet. It's about a 15-20 minute ride, depending on traffic. Security at Miami can also run 15-20 minutes on average, depending on terminal.

I'd be a little concerned. You certainly want to take advantage of any opportunity to check your bags @ the ship (different lines call it different things), if its available.

If not available, you may want to take your own bags off the ship- you'll be able to disembark early on in the process.

Are there taxis waiting at the port? Or is this something I need to somehow make arrangements for ahead of time?

There is a line of taxis waiting, but also a line of guests. Usally the line moves retty fast. We had a waiting time of 5 - 10 minutes.
