Flying into LAX from JFK on Jet Blue on a Wed morning landing at 1020am. What are my options to get to Disneyland Hotel? Any suggestions for private car services vs Uber/Lyft? Also my return flight also on Jet Blue takes off at 900am on a Monday morning what time and transportation options for the return trip to LAX? TIA

Golden West Express I have been using them for years. The owner, Allen is great. Just used them during my May trip. $150 from LAX to GCH. I would be picked up at 630AM from DLH..rush hour traffic.

A rides share will your lowest cost option. To reduce traffic going to the terminal, LAX directs fire shares to a designed lot (LAX-IT) for pick-up. You can either walk (about 10 minutes from T5, where JetBlue operates from) or take the free shuttle. If you order your ride when you start to walk or take the bus, the airport will time it so that it’s waiting for you when you get there. On the return, the ride share can drop you off directly at the terminal (not the lot). A premium ride share like Uber Black can pick you up curbside (no need for the lot).

Right now, Uber is showing $62 to the DLH, or $120 for Uber Black. Costco sells $100 gift cards for $80. In today’s world, there’s no reason to order an executive car unless it gives you a false sense of security.

For a 9AM flight, I wouldn’t leave any later than 6AM. I’d budget 75 minutes for the drive (10-15 minutes will be spent waiting in traffic while navigating LAX), and 45-60 minutes to get checked-in/ through TSA. You need to consider that it’s a hike from DLH to LAX, and any accident will cripple traffic, so pad accordingly.
I disagree. I like to use private car service. I can make my reservations and my safety is paramount. Yes Ubers are safe for the most part. If Uber black is $120 I would rather spend the extra and get a private car. "False sense of security" -With a private car service you get email contacts, phone number and you know the driver and owner. After traveling from JFK to LAX to go to Disneyland, booking private car service is a must..I am not using Uber or a Ride Share but that is me. Plus with private car service, you just walk outside of baggage claim and get picked up ...no schelping to another lot or area.

I agree. I am a solo female international tourist. I do not use ride share. For LAX to Disneyland I have used Midwilshuttle private car service for many years with no issues. I pay online in advance, and they pick up curbside at LAX arrivals. I send them a WhatsAPP when I am waiting for my checked bag, and then I go out to the pick up area and send then another WhatsApp to let the driver know I am ready. They send the drivers name and make of car. The cost for me is around $100.

Most private car services have high turnover, since they pay their drivers poorly (owner pickets most of the fare) and will hire anybody with a clean driving record who is able to do the job. The best services would be the one where the owner is also the driver.

I say false sense of security because most of the time it is. High turnover = you can’t be picky in getting your employees. And it’s incredibly rare when a ride share drive internationally harms a passenger, but people will bring that 1 incident up in 3 years and millions of rides sense to insist safety is a concern.
That maybe true. I deal with the owner when I make reservations and he hires good drivers...I have the same drivers for years.
Uber is the same they will hire anyone with a clean record. Ride share is not for me. I will take a private car. Born and bred Nyer here, I will take a private car. Commuted for years on LIRR and subway and taxis, I am in vacation - private car service. And dont get me started on NYC taxi cabs..lol.

Ride shares and shuttles seem to start at US$80 and go up based on what I was researching this week.
Midwilshuttle is $120 plus tip.

No one has suggested renting a car...
a quick look for a one day rental from LAX to drop off at Disney shows US$60 from avis/budget for an economy car.
