My family and I will be at FW for Christmas and I know that transportation will be crowded, but can we use buses to EPCOT and not take boat to MK and then the monorail?? My DBFF that is going with my family cannot ride the monorail due to car sickness. If we can take a bus that would be better for her.

Thanks!!! I am trying to plan out routes and I know people have said that taking the monorail is the quickest, but with her car-sickness that is not an option.

Am I imposing too much to ask why a short monorail ride would be too much for her, but a longer bus ride would not be? Also how is she getting to WDW and the Fort? Just curious. Would motion sickness medicine help overall?

For her she needs to be able to look straight ahead. The monorail doesn't give you that option and if you look out, you are looking at the trees going by differently than looking straight ahead. Buses don't bother her as she can look straight forward. We will take the boats to MK and we will be taking ME from the airport. She knows that for her it is psychological, but she can't get her brain to turn off that part when she travels. She has gotten better the more she travels to different places, but she still psychs herself out that she is sick. I hope this explains it.

Sorry to hear all that. I know from experience that anything that interferes with travel can be a real problem. Here's hope for continued improvement. And too bad they don't let passengers ride up front on the monorail since the crash a couple years ago.

It really isn't that bad...we have learned to adapt. I know we tried the monorail in 2011 around the resort loop (in the evening) and by the time we hit the Poly she was done. We started at the MK, we didn't get off at the Contemporary, but got out at the Poly and the GF. I think it is with her the jerky movement of the monorail is the issue too.

Thanks everyone for the info.

Sorry to here about the sickness. We took the bus in June and timed it perfect and got there almost 45 minutes before the park opened. That was pure luck as the timing was perfect. Not more than a minute wait for the inside FW bus and the EPCOT bus was there and left right after we boarded. You could easily add 15 minutes to both of these if the timing isn't perfect.
