Transportation from DVC

Greetings all!
This may be a bit off topic, but I was wondering if anyone had ever taken a taxi from any DVC resort to some other off site theme park. Specificly, I was looking at Universal Studios. I am in the beginning stages of planning the next vacation, and at first were going to stay at universal for a couple days, then go to Disney. I was thinking of taking a towncar from airport to universal, then univeral to disney, then disney back to airport, but then I thought of the magical express and figured I could potentially save myself a few bucks if I were just stay at DVC on points and get a taxi for the day or two that we would go to universal. Anyone have any experience with this? Any and all input is welcomed.

I personally have not. But I have friends that have. On several occasions they took a taxi to somewhere offsite like US. On the return trip back they just asked to have a taxi called from one of the booths at the front gate. I'm not sure of the cost.
