Transportation from CBR to other resorts?

I'm debating to try to get in a character dining at some of the resorts and was wondering about transportation to those resorts - Polynesian, Contemporary, Beach Club... Do any buses go directly there or do you have to go to a park and then get on another bus?

Disney does not provide direct resort to resort transportation. If you wnat to use Disney transportation, you need to use one of the parks or Downtown Disney as a hub/transfer point. Use the MK to get to the POly & Contemporary and the Studios for the BC (take a boart or walk from the Studios).

As the previous poster stated, there are no resort to resort buses. What I always suggest to anyone thinking about eating at a Disney resort other than where they are staying is to plan to be at the theme park that is the closest.
For example, if you want to eat at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary plan on being in the Magic Kingdom. It's a short walk or monorail ride over to the hotel.
If you want something like the character breakfast at the Cape May Cafe in the Beach Club plan on either Epcot or the Studios for that day. From the International Gateway of Epcot the Beach Club is 5-10 minutes walking, a little longer if you want to take the Friendship boat. From the Studios the walk is around 20 minutes so the boat might be a better option. The Friendship boats travel from Epcot to the Studios all day stopping at the Beach/Yacht clubs, Boardwalk, and Swan/Dolphin along the way. Kind of slow, but a nice relaxing ride.
I never suggest trying to get from one resort to another without a theme park visit. You will waste too much time travelling on the buses.

What time in the morning do the buses start going to Epcot - is it 1/2 hour or one hour before opening? I've heard both
I have a PS at 9AM but if the buses start at 8:30 I'll want to move my PS little later.

I would take the bus to MGM and boat or walk to the Beach Club. You will not be admitted into Epcot until after 9:00am unless it is an EMH morning. You cannot walk from Epcot's front entrance to the Beach Club without entering Epcot. I believe the busses and boats start running by 8:00am, if not earlier.

I guess the walking from Epcot was from the other entrance ? The main entrance is at FW right?

Also I would think that buses would go from hotels to the park, not vice versa early in the morning?

You can walk to the International Gateway entrance from Beach Club but not the main entrance at FW.

Busses go both ways in the morning. Last month I stayed at VWL and wanted to go to Boma for breakfast without a car. We took the bus to AK and from there caught the AKL bus, we were the only ones on the bus. You can catch the boat leaving MGM going to Beach Club in the morning.

Do you think I should move my PS to 9;30 just in case the transportion doesn't start until 8:30 (when the parks open that morning)? It's not EMH for Epcot or MGM.

I wouldn't change it, it might be booked up anyway since it's less than a month away. Transportation should start by 8:00. I've showed up for PS's late and it was never a problem. In fact, for the breakfast I mentioned above our PS was 9:00 and we didn't get there until about 9:45 (long story, nothing to do with transportation), no problem.

There are early morning busses that will take you from you resort to other resorts for you character breakfasts.

Even though it is a year old, Tyler has continually confirmed this is still correct.

So, in the morning, if you have a PS at the BC, get on the MGM bus and tell the driver this and he will drop you off at the BC.
