Transportation from BWV to Hoop-Dee-Doo?

Hello,

I'm looking for suggestions to getting to the Hoop-Dee-Doo from the BWV. Is it best to just take the bus directly to Fort Wilderness, or would it be more enjoyable to break up the ride and bus to the MK and then take the boat from MK over to Fort Wilderness. In either case, how much time should we allow for transportation to the Hoop-Dee-Doo? We're leaving on Wednesday (yay!) and our Hoop-Dee-Doo is scheduled for Monday, September 29. Also, if we wanted to watch the Electrical Water Pageant, would we be able to after our 7:15 dinner? How would you suggest we get back to the BWV? We'll be traveling with a 4 year old and 6 month old.

Thanks!
Amy

You have two options. The first is to take the boat over to the Studios, and catch the bus to FW from there. That bus will drop you off at the Settlement Depot, which is close to Pioneer Hall.

The other choice would be to take the bus to the MK, and then catch the Boat to FW from there. This would be my recommendation.

To return, just reverse those steps. If both MK and Studios are closed, then you might have to travel to DTD. Just ask someone in purple pants for directions. :)

Thanks Tyler for your quick response! I think we will opt to bus over to MK and then take the boat from MK to FW. Since MK and the Studios will most likely be closed after our dinner (and we might want to stay later to catch the Electrical Water Pageant, if it's going on), I'm guessing we will need to travel to DTD from FW and then take a bus from DTD back to BWV. Is there a bus that picks you up from FW and takes you to DTD? Also, how long will each segment of our journey be? Bus from BWV to MK? Boat from MK to FW? Bus from FW to DTD? Bus from DTD to BWV?

Thank you so much! I've enjoyed reading your posts to get ready for our trip, so I hope to see you to say "hello!"

Thanks again,
Amy

Buses run from the MK one hour after the park closes, so keep that in mind as well. As for timing... Allow for one hour in each direction. Probably won't take that long, but it's good to over-estimate and arrive early. :)

You mentioned that you wanted to see the Electrical Water Pageant... it depends on where you view it from, as to where to go from there. There will be boats that run from FW -> WL -> Contemporary. You can catch a bus to DTD at the Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, or the Fort Wilderness Outpost Depot.

(Note that Pioneer Hall is at the Settlement Depot... to get to the Outpost, one would have to take an internal bus marked Outpost. Doesn't matter which color.)

I'm guessing you'll be doing some exploring of the resorts before the show... so, if so, WL or CR would be fine places to pick up the DTD bus, and you can get to either via boat.

I know... so many options... sounds confusing, but if you ever have any questions, just ask a bus driver. We're always happy to help. :)

As for finding me... well... check my countdown to see how many days left I'll be available. :)

 Is this a hint on what the surprise is? Are you going on to bigger and better things?

I'm SO horrible at keeping secrets... lol... but yes... "Bigger" would definetly be a key word.

Maybe we can start a thread of "I've got a secret" or "What's My LIne?" We can each ask one question and whoever figures it out gets????:jester:
