Ok, we have a tentative plan to visit Jellyrolls after the Epcot closes. This is a RARE adults trip. It's also a one-day budget stop in Orlando (we are in FL for different reasons). I say this just so you don't ponder why I'm not staying on-site, using Disney transportation, etc. We've been-there-done-that, but this trip is different.

So leaving Jellyrolls, probably pretty late at night, for a hotel on International Drive, the best option would be a taxi, I assume? So what's the best taxi company (reliable and reasonable), do you think? Is it tough to get a cab at, say, midnight? Is it correct that a fare would be about $40? Where would you pick up a cab....I've never been to Jellyrolls, but I didn't think it has a entrance on a real street? Would we have to walk to a main road somewhere? Any other tips or ideas?

Yes, I realize these are seemingly stupid questions, but I don't think I've ever roamed Disney property so late at night. And it's a girls night out (:woohoo:), so I just want to make sure I understand what I'm doing before I actually do it! Thanks so much!

You would pick the taxi up at the Boardwalk entrance. IIRC Disney works with one company (Mears, maybe?) so you don't have to worry about fly-by-night cabbies because they won't let them on property unless they have a drop-off. I don't know if the Swolphin has the same restrictions.

I think that Mears also has a fare estimator on their website.

ETA: The parking valet at the Boardwalk will call you a cab if there is not one waiting.

Just walk from Jellyrolls to the BW lobby, (short walk), go outside to the valet desk and they will get you a taxi within minutes, there will probably be taxis there waiting for fares.
Mears will more than likely be the taxi you will get, I believe they are the official taxi co. at WDW.

Wow, that's great, I'm glad I asked because I would not have guessed that. Wasn't up to searching the yellow pages for cab companies with a few drinks in me . Excellent, thanks again!

The official cab company is either Yellow or Checker. Both of those in Orlando are Mears subsidiaries.
