I have heard that a bus runs from the TTC to Universal Studios. Is this true and if so how much is the fare?
If it isn't true, what is the best and most ecomonical way to get to US from the French Quarter resort? I MUST KNOW! :scared1:

There is no but that is going to take you from TTC to US/IOA directly. It is called the Lynx system, and is Orlando's public transit system. You can take it directly to SeaWorld though. I believe there have been reports of people taking it from TTC to SW and then taking a different bus, or the I Trolley, to US/IOA. But, those all involve transfers. The fare to SW is about $1.50 pp each way.
A towncar service would run you about $60, plus tip, from your resort directly to US/IOA parking lot. Economical? Nope, but it sure is handy and a great way to go.

Thank you so much for the info. The town car sounds great but a bit much for our budget. So, I'll either go ahead with the bus tranferrs or maybe just spend the first half of our vacation at FQ, then check into a hotel there on Universal Drive.

The idea of spending WDW time at a WDW resort and then checking into a Univeral resort for the days at US/IOA is a good one.
I have warn you about making those transfers though...there have been a lot of locals who have advised against it. They say there is much room for error and you could end up in areas you are better off not being in.
I like the idea of two different resorts though....almost like two different trips!!! But, don't forget..you'll have to pay to get from your WDW resort to the Universal resort. And then get back to the airport from there.

If you just wanted to do a day at US then you could rent a car. Pick it up at the CCC and it would probably run arund $39.00.

Just a thought

I've never been to US/IOA before so I really want to give them a couple of days. Besides I already bought the 2park for 7days tickets so I might as well take advantage of them. It looks like my best option is to go ahead and stay at WDW for the first part of our vacation, then relocate to a hotel there at US.

I second the suggestion on renting a car for a couple of days to make your US/IOA trips. I helped a friend recently get a car rental for doing the exact thing. She picked the car up at the airport and dropped it off at Swan/Dolphin 3 days later. This was her first time driving from the airport and she LOVED having the convenience of the car. You have to figure you're going to pay to get to another hotel by US/IOA and may still need to pay to get from that hotel to those parks and THEN get back to the airport. Check out National/Alamo on mousesavers.com for codes/coupons and you can sometimes get a really good deal.
