HI - I am in the beginning stages of planning our first visit to Disney world in 18 years. My in-laws will be staying at FWL with their RV. We are not crazy about staying there at the cabins and are considering staying at another resort. Could anyone tell me which resort would be most convenient to be near theirs (preferably a Home Away from Home resort)? Also, what would be the best way to travel between our resorts? DO the buses and boats stop at each resort on the way to the parks for pick-ups? Thanks for any advice!!

I will also post this on the resorts forum.

You probably mean that they're staying at FW (Fort Wilderness), not FWL (no such thing). The closest "Home-Away-From-Home" resort (closest resort period) you could stay to them would be the Villas at Wilderness Lodge. There's a trail you can walk between the two resorts. They can also rent a golf cart at Fort Wilderness for their stay to make the trek between the two much faster and easier. Also, the launch (boat) runs between the two resorts.

It sounds like the Wilderness Lodge would be your best bet.

By all means DO stay at the cabins!!

They are very comfortable, clean and spacious. Maid service is available daily just like a hotel room, plus you can cook meals with the dishes and utensils provided. When I stayed there, the housekeeper even did the dishes for us while we were in the parks.

The campground is by far the most beautiful resort at Disney.
