We have booked a room at P.O.R. for May 23 - 28th. Could anyone tell me how busy the busses are at that time of year. From what I am reading the riverside guests have trouble getting on the busses. I have two daughters (one stroller) and was wondering if I should be worried! We are not a family that is always in a hurry but I don't really want to wait too long for a bus.
Any info would be great! :wave2:

We usually drive from POR for a variety of reasons. We did take the bus a couple of times and the wait was manageable. We don't have kids as young as yours, though. And I'm sure you've already figured out if you go/leave at peak times the wait will be longer. If it's your only way to get around, don't worry. It will be fine.

I've had some experience in this area. One of the reasons (but not the only one), that I book the French Quarter is because the buses always stop first (loading and unloading people) at French Quarter. However, it seems to me that last time I was there, some buses were going only to the Riverside side, and not making a stop at Port Orleans at all. Not sure, but I think that's right because on some trips to a park from Port Orleans the bus I was on made no stops at Riverside at all, leading me to think that Riverside was getting a dedicated bus service at some times.

Can anybody comment on this?

Enjoy.

We went last July when the parks were very busy. The only real problem we had was getting buses at the parks going back to POR. We were there for eight days and it seemed that every night without fail, we had the longest line waiting for buses of any resort. Some waits were as long as 35-40 minutes. Getting a bus in the morning to go to the parks was no problem. We plan on going back this August and I think we will be driving to the parks.

That was my experience as well. And we had kids and a stroller. Good luck!

We had three children, 10,9 & 8. Try standing up & holding an 8 yr old on a moving bus at 11:00 PM after spending a whole day at the MK. Like I said before, we plan on driving to the parks next time around.

I'm hoping that it won't be quite as busy in May. I have it set up so that we will be doing disney (charater lunches, etc.) during the week not on the weekend.

Getting back to POR from the MK was the worst for us. We hopped on the POFQ bus because of the short like and walked to POR. The walk was short and we got back a lot faster. :thumbsup2

That's a great idea! I wouldn't have thought of that. How long would you say the walk was from French Quarter to Riverside?

Just finishing up a stay at POR. It has been extremely busy (for February) here due to cheerleading competitions. The buses are pretty full going to the parks. Returning from the parks there have been bus stops exclusively for Riverside. In fact, at MK, there were 2 queue lines for Riverside.

That makes me feel better that riverside has exclusive busses! Thanks!!
Can't wait to go!!!
