Hello! I will be staying in All Star Movies April 6th through April 9th with my mom, my 4 year old DD and 6 year old niece. I was wondering about the All Star Movies transportation to the parks.
About how long does it usually take to go by bus from ASMo to Mk, Epcot, DS, and AK? How often do busses usually run? Is the bus service efficent?

First post tldammann? Welcome aboard! Bus service at the All Stars is very good. They run about every 10 to 20 minutes (at worst) depending on time of day and the ride to the parks usually take around 10 to 15 minutes.

Enjoy!!

Bob is correct, the busses are great at the All Stars. They appear to be dedicated to each resort, now, so when you get on a movies bus, you go only to movies.

Enjoy jour stay. I have been in Movies 2 times, Mighty Ducks and Herbie. All Stars are a great place to stay,

I think I'm missing something here?!?!?!?!
All-star bus service, good?

Everytime we go to the ALL Stars we use our vehicle for transportation cause we refuse to use the busses there. The buses go to Sports first then to Music then to Movies. Yes they go to all three resorts except at extremely crowded times. As far as I have noticed.

Let me list an example.

Recently we went to WDW for a 4 night stay at the All Star Music. We go there around noon and since the line was long for check-in we decided to go to MGM and then check in later that night. We did not drive because all our stuff was in the truck and thought it just wasn't a good idea. We waited about 20 minutes for the bus to MGM and a good amount of people got on the bus. Not the bad part yet. Had a great time at MGM went back to the ALL Star stop 13 I believe it is. And there was a very long line. I was surprised because the first show of Fantasmic was only about half way through. We waited on a bench as 4 busses came and went in over an hours time. The line for the bus has only gotten longer it is at this time back past the #12 bus line which is not being used at the time. We decided to hop a bus to Epcot. From the time we left the bench at MGM til we got off the bus at our resort was under a half hour. We even had a good wait time at Epcot for the bus to get there, probably 10 minutes. This is not an isolated incident I could go on and on but I'm sure you don't want me to.

I do not mind riding the bus I usually prefer it especially at AKL. Which it is superb there. I much rather it than having others smack into your vehicle. As my husband has had happen to him while driving his van. This was done while we were standing there and the guy plainly did not care.

But I DO NOT use ALL STAR busses when ever possible.

Good luck and hope it works out for you.

I have stayed at ASMo twice. The bus service there was faster than CBR, WL, GF, or AKL.....but I still like AKL best, but ASMo second!

I should have mentioned this before,

You were asking about how long it takes and that kind of thing. While I can't say for sure on the times, but I can suggest using the Transportation Guide Map. It'll show you which parks are further way than others. Of course AK will be the closest, and I believe MK would be the furthest. It doesn't take very long to get from one place to another in the World. The busses are comfortable for the most part. Not cushiony seats or nothing but reasonably comfortable. You may be standing but there are hand rails to hold on to. The drivers have always been nice, some funny than others. I have some who sing, tell jokes and a few may tell you info about the park, most are quiet. For the most part it's a basic bus ride.

By all means have fun on your trip no matter what happens.

The All-Stars by far get the best bus transportation on property. The reason? They have the most guests.

Busses typically run every 5-15 minutes, depending on time of day and season.

Time to the parks:

DAK - 7 mins
Studios - 9 mins
Epcot - 10 mins
MK - 13 mins
DTD - 16 mins
BB - 5 mins

Busses start running at 7:00am for early entry and character breakfasts

From 8:00-11:00am, theme park busses are dispatched via Magic On Demand... typically, each ASR gets thier own bus for each park. However, if demand is slow, they might make it go to a second ASR.

From 11:00am on... Epcot, Studios, and DAK combine the resorts. MK seperates them at all times of the day. During the park close, Epcot will split them.

One thing you need to understand... During peak times... (8am-11am), parade exit, fireworks, and park exit, these busses may get crowded. However, we do add busses to the routes to compensate.

During the park exit, ASR busses come one right after another. Often times, during extreme busy times, busses will even come two at a time, and double load. We can move the people FAST.

But remember... there are almost 6,000 rooms at the All Stars... compared to the 1,200 rooms at AK Lodge. So yeah, the line at the All-Stars will be a bit longer. But like I said, we can move the people fast.

A few tips to help us along... I'm sure you'll have a stroller... All strollers must be folded prior to boarding... so make sure you've got all your belongings organized, and the stroller folded, before you reach the front of the line. :)

I think the bus service at the All Stars is great. Sometimes they do stop at the other All Stars, but they are right next door, not three miles down the road. It seemed like the other resorts always had another stop to make.

The good thing about the All-Stars is that sometimes the busses start at Sports, other times they start at Movies... so that people get fair chances. And the stops really are not time consuming.

And yes, other resorts do share... MK resorts share, and Epcot resorts share.

I have never had a problem at the All Stars, and I was there during very uncrowded times when I imagine they run fewer buses. When you will be there I would think there would be even more buses running since it's a peak time. After our horrible AKL bus service I don't think any buses will seem too bad.
