if i want to go to universal or san diego for the day whats the easiest ?

Take a cab or ART or the city bus to the Anaheim train station and take Amtrak to San Diego, or Amtrak/Metrolink to LA Union Station and the Red Line subway from Union Station to the Universal station. The Metrolink fare covers your Red Line fare, so it's cheaper than Amtrak, but it only runs during commuter hours so you need to factor that into your return timing.
