Hi - we're getting ready for our first family vacation to Disney (me, husband, and 3 yo twins) and I would love to have some transportation advice.
We originally had early morning flights on Frontier to Orlando, but they stopped servicing our airport (luckily I read this in our local paper - they never notified me that our flights had been canceled). After a lot of back and forth, we ended up booking Northwest flights on the night before our original departure date.
We'll arrive around 10:30 PM on a Thursday night. We weren't able to add a night at the Grand Floridian, where all of our other nights are booked, so we decided to book a room at AS Movies. Since we get in so late, we thought we'd pick up our bags ourselves (I have read not to use the luggage tags and we'll proceed to DME after baggage claim) and take them with us on the DME to AS Movies.
Early the next morning, we thought we'd take a cab to GF with our luggage.
Any advice on getting cabs? Are they easy to get or do we need to call ahead?
I'm sure we'll end up leaving our luggage with bell services at GF and head to a park, hoping they get a room ready before 3:00 p.m. so the kids can nap.
On the way back, we'll just do the DME from the GF.
Does anyone see any problems in my plan? Or have any other advice?
