First off, let me say that I've been stalking the boards for a week now. You all are so helpful and wonderful! I am planning a trip for early May - this will be my first time - and i've learned GOBS here!

I am hoping to get some advice on transportation... particularly for the trip from LAX to the resort. We will be staying at PPH (5 of us - 2 adults, 2 kids, 1 baby). We do plan to stay on site for most of the week with maybe one outing Knott's or somewhere else on one day.

My first thought was just to do the shuttle or cab from/to the airport like many do because we're not sure about driving in LA. :scared: We're from Alaska and although driving can be scary here, it's a different kind of scary (icky road conditions). ;) Looking at the costs... I am starting to change my mind because doing that would be half the cost of renting a car for the week. The convenience of having a car (even if we only use it once other than the airports) is appealing. What do you think? How is the drive from LAX? Or would I just be better off leaving the driving to the experts?

Welcome to the boards!

Honestly, the drive is not bad at all. I'm a NY driver, so basically traffic in LA was the same for me. It's just like driving on any other highway.

thanks, Chris. I thought it over all night and I do think we will be doing the rental. :)

:lmao: That's really funny! Only in California have I seen drivers use the shoulder of the freeway used as an additional traffic lane!

I will agree that traffic may or may not be worse than where you live. Traffic in the area seems to be heavy throughout the day, but (other than those unexpectedly passing or driving along the shoulder), we didn't think it was that bad. The signs were easy to follow, so no trouble at all to head in the right direction.

I live in North Pole I agree the traffic there is much diffrent. So I always get Dave from Best limo service and it is cheaper than bus with that many people.
