transportatiom to from airport?

The transportation board is all about DW. Is there any info on transportation for DL? I need transportation possibilities from John Wayne airport. Thanks!

You might check out the website for the airport - that is usually a really good source of information. Also supershuttle (I think) transports from there. they have a website, www.supershuttle.com.

Super Shuttle costs around $11 each way, not including tip. I've generally been happy with their service. Unless you are going during a very busy time, you shouldn't need to make reservations going to the hotel from the airport, but it doesn't hurt. BUT, don't prebuy your ticket. You may find that you want to change your plans for some reason. For example, you might find that Supershuttle just left and you have to wait 15 minutes for the next van (they'll tell you it's 5 minutes, but it will be longer before they actually leave the airport). Another shuttle company may be able and willing to take you right away, and perhaps at a discounted price.

You will need to make reservations to pick you up from your hotel to take you back to the airport. But again, try not to pre-buy. Our last trip, we decided we wanted to leave for the airport earlier than our reservation. (The security alert level was raised, etc.) Super Shuttles came to the DL hotel, but would not take us to the airport earlier than our scheduled time. So we ended up sharing a cab with another couple who were in the same predicament. Incidentally, Cabs cost around $36 + tip, so are a better bet if you have 4 or more in your party.

I've also taken the Airporter Bus. At times, it's not been too bad from John Wayne. But other times, you have to wait up to a 1/2 hour for the bus. They may take you to a transportation center, and then you have to transfer to another bus to get to your hotel, so it can take quite a bit longer. I once took an Airporter Bus from LAX, and it had a broken moonroof type window. We froze the entire way, and it took forever to get to DL. I prefer the shuttle.
