Hi, We are going to WDW in October this year. This will be our third visit and the second time we have stayed at Port Orleans. We are planning to have a few dinners at some of the other resort hotel restaurants eg Cont. Res., Grand Flor. etc. My worry is that how do we get back to P.O. if the meal finishes after bus transportation ends for the night ? We won't have a car,can anyone help ? Does the transportation syatem run late ? etc etc.

You best bet would be to get a taxi back to POR if you are dining late. If you go to the bell services or guest relations in the resort you are dining they will call you a cab. It wouldn't cost that much resort to resort.

There is no transporation that runs resort to resort; so you would need to get a bus to DTD and then transfer to the POR bus from there. The busses from DTD run quite late back to the resorts due to the Pleasure Island crowds (1am-ish I think). If you are dining on the same night as Spectro Magic/Wishes is on at MK, you may be in time to catch the bus back to POR from there - especially if you are eating at the CR or GF.

even if the buses are still running between DTD and the resorts, keep in mind that it takes forever and a day to travel that way....
the buses between the resorts and DTD do not run that often...
in other words, you may want to take a taxi even if the buses are still running...
taxis aren't cheap, but it's better than taking an hour on a bus rather than at most 10 minutes in a taxi....

Thanks for the replies regarding transport at night from resort to resort. I think I'll opt for the taxi, the cost isn't a problem I just thought that it might not be easy to gat a cab to come in to disney for a ralatively short resort to resort trip.

it's no problem at all.....there's a cab company that services disney...(i think it's associated with mears)...
just as the other poster said, you ask the bell captain to call a taxi for you....it doesn't take that long for them to come...
we used to use taxis all the time, but then we switched to a rental car....we also prefer to get to the parks with our own car (except for the MK....in that case, the WDW transportation is a much better bet)...
