Transport to DT Disney the day before

Dilemma- We are flying in to MCO at noon the day before our cruise in Aug & staying at the Hyatt. We want to go to DT Disney, because sitting in our hotel room, or pool(not swimmers), or shopping in the airport shops can only last so long. What is the cheapest way you've found to get to DT Disney? There's just the 2 of us, so we priced a rental car, & since it's August, it's around $80-$100 with gas, ins, tolls, etc. Taxis are around $55 each way-town car services about the same.
Any cheaper suggestions?

Well there is local bus service "orlandoairports.net" not the most efficient but the lowest cost... Looks like you would take a bus to downtown Orlando and then change to a bus for WDW almost 2 hours each way not an attractive option IMO. You should be able to do better then that on a rental car, lots of discount codes available on mouse savers.com and other sites...

I would second a rental car. I had one the day before our cruise for the same reasons as you and it was about $24.00 for the day. I booked it in advance.

We do this every trip and always rent a car. And have never paid those kind of rates. Keep watching for deals. And gas won't cost hardly anything - doesn't take that much gas to go to DTD and back to MCO.

You can also look at the ride sharing options like Uber and Lyft, but I suspect those will be more than a car rental.

We have rented a car before, (never in August) but all the sites are very high for a one day rental. But I will look in to the discounts.
