How long should I plan to get from MK to O'Hana for dinner using the Monorail? I am looking for the total time... walk to Monorail station, wait for a monorail (do they come often?), time to Poly, from station to restaurant... I don't want to miss our ressie!

Should run every 20 minutes given its the third stop from MK I would say 45 to 60 min.

Could be less than that if you catch the monorail right. I'd say from Castle to O'Hana can be anywhere from 30-50 minutes.

Ferry's are always an option. As a rule, always give yourself an hour to get from any two places, even if they are side by side. Getting to the Poly early isn't a bad thing, the atmosphere will keep you busy!

Trying to use the resort loop monorail to get from MK to GF for ADR near 7pm on a MNSSHP night in early October last year was the WORST experience of our trip.

I can think of three ways to get to the Poly from MK:
  • Monorail - The resort loop will go to the CR and TTC, before getting to the Poly. The monorail is fun and you don't have to fold up any strollers or wheelchairs and it's ECV compatible.
  • Ferry - The ferry will go to GF first, then onto the Poly. I think this is a fun option, but it can be very slow because the smaller launch has a fairly small capacity. So if there is a line of guests, this can take time. You do have fold up strollers and it cannot accommodate ECVs (for the smaller ferry).
  • TTC Ferry - From the TTC you can walk to the Poly.

In the end, I would allow an hour to get to the Poly from the MK to be safe (so an hour from when you're walking out of MK's gate to when you get to the Poly). It might not take an hour, but I'd rather be early opposed to late. If you're leaving during a peak time (e.g., right after fireworks or the parade), I would add more time because the monorail line can get long.

Thanks all. I think we'll aim to head out of MK by 5:00 for the 6:30 reservation. We'll definitely hit the monorail to give my train loving son another fix!

The monorail is always a fun ride, and getting there early isn't a bad thing. We always arrive early for our ADR, and just take the opportunity to wander through the shops, enjoy the scenery, or just take a seat and relax for a bit.
