Transport from Disney to Universal

What's the best way to get from a Disney resort to Universal? We went last year with Mears and it was resonable, but we had to wait a long time and pick up other guests at other Disney resorts. Is there anything better out there that isn't too expensive?

The only other option that I know of is a cab. It may be more expensive depending on how many people you have, since mears charges per person. But I think the extra money is worth it, because it takes you straight there. And there is always a line of cabs waiting by the exit too, so getting back to your hotel is never a problem.

we've used mears in the past. and are using again this year. providing you phone in advance, you should get the pick up time you want. we never had a problem with waiting, and only picked up 1-2 sets of people on the way. maybe you were just unlucky last time. a few times when they couldn't collect us at our requested time/place, they sent a pre-paid cab free of charge

We are staying at POP in only 15 days. We are going to UO/IOA for 2 days. we hired a private driver and at a much better rate than Mears. There are 6 of us and its only $12 each return. We get picked up at the time we want and leave Universal when we want. Also, no stops along the way to pickup other people.
Only 15 more days....cant wait!!!!!

You can also look into renting a car for the day. There are National and Alamo locations at the Dolphin and the Car Care Center (they will pick you up/drop you off at your resort). Depending on how big a car you will need, this may give you a little bit more freedom in times for the same amount of money
