Transport from Anaheim to Burbank

Hi, Im travelling from Australia to Disneyland in jan. I arrive on the 14th and just found out I've got tickets to see Ellen on the 15th Jan (the taping starts at 6pm -be there at 3.30 and the taping is meant to go for and hour and a half)

I've been doing some research and i think the best way to get to the studios from either Universal City station or burbank station is the 96 bus...is that correct?

But what is the most direct way to get to either of these stations from Anaheim and also would there be transport back to Anaheim at that time of night? if we leave Warner Bros at around 8ish? (obviously this depends on the taping etc)

Also, we will only be able to use public transport, renting a car is not an option for us!

Any help is appreciated!! I'm a bit worried about not being able to get back to Anaheim late at night and not knowing the area etc!!

The Amtrak might be a good option. The Anaheim station is only
about 2 and a half miles from DLR - not too expensive of a taxi
ride. The train leaves Union Station at 10:10PM. If you catch the
96 at 8:30 to the Red Line station you should get to Union
station by about 9:30.

For the return trip you might want to think about taking a taxi from Warner Brothers (if available) to the Burbank Airport Amtrak station, which is only about 3 miles from Warners, and which will get you on the same train, just a little bit sooner. Here's the schedule which shows the #796 train leaving Burbank at 9:12pm. Note that it's the last train of the night.

Also, the city of Anaheim in conjunction with Disneyland has a shuttle, not sure if it goes all the way to burbank but you can check it out. Alternatively, it might be worth your while to check out some Anaheim California Hotels that have a shuttle service because many of them do.
