We are going to the Champ Bowl Game on Dec.29th. leaving from POFQ.
Can anyone suggest the best and least expensive type of transporation? :confused3
Boiler Up.... :cheer2:
Thanks.

Can't help you with the transfers...but please cheer for me! I have to stay here at work and will miss all the fun! Boiler Up!

Rental car.

I would expect that town cars are going to want a premium. It's not like your plane, the game can end at an undetermined time (overtime etc) Taxis would be costly becasue you could wind up paying to sit in traffic getting to the game.

Maybe you can talk Lynx? I am not sure what stadium the game is in.

I would just rent a car for the day from Alamo/National.

The Champs Bowl as well as the Capitol One Bowl are played at the Citrus Bowl Stadium which is a few miles directly west of downtown Orlando. I'm not aware of any practical way to get there via public transportation. While there may be Lynx bus service from the TTC that would ultimately get you to downtown, it's doubtful such transportatoin would still be operating after the game which would be late night.

Rental car is really the best choice. Rent one mid-day the day of the game and return it mid-day the day after the game.

Parking is limited around the stadium but usually on game days there is free Lynx bus transportation between the downtown Lynx terminal and the stadium. Parking in city garages downtown is typically a $5 flat rate. There is a large city garage on Central Avenue downtown, just east of I-4 and this is near the Lynx hub. If you want to take your chances and park near the stadium then you'd take I-4 from WDW towards downtown, exit onto TOLL 408 (East-West Expressway) WEST and you can't miss the stadium just a mile ahead.

I don't have an answer on the how but had to say Boiler Up! and if I can figure out some reasonable airfare will be making a quick trip down just for the game

Keep in mind that the Lynx (#50) bus to Disney stops running around 10 pm each night. :surfweb:

GO BOILERS :cheer2: :cheer2: . Purdue alum here, wishing I was going to be in Orlando for New Years. Guess I'll just have to wait for Spring Break :confused3 !
