My language wasn't quite correct ...they aren't "drink cabinets", but we drink "cabinets". As if that were any less confusing.
The whole "regular" coffee thing is funny too. Of course regular coffee is caffeinated here also. But at any coffee shop in RI, much of CT and Mass., if you say a large Regular- it is cream and sugar. You'd have to specifically say decaf to ever get anything but w/caffeine. Once again, thank goodness for threads like these so we all know to be specific or ask carefully when we travel!

And you're also right about being thankful for threads like these. I'd feel really dumb going to another state and not understanding what to order. In a foreign country, sure; but within America!

It appears for us Jersey people, we're not even safe in our own state!

Watching TV last night, I thought of this thread and cracked up. Travel Channel had a show about all the regional versions of hot dogs.

I'm guessing you've never seen the documentaries on PBS about regional takes on hot dogs...and another very good one on sandwiches. One part of the country even specializes in sloppy joes without the sauce! (They call them somethig else though)

I just made them last night for dinner. Manwich-I don;t make my own sauce. LOL

I made some last week, and made the sauce. I think the Manwich sauce is a little sweet. All you need is a small can of tomato paste and a can of diced tomato (I like the ones with onion and garlic already in them), and then add whatever spice you like. The only problem I had was we had mild Chili Powder, and I had to put nearly an entire bottle in to get some spice going (I also finally just put some powdered cayenne in it to give it a kick). We like a little shredded cheddar cheese melted on our Sloppy Joe's, and we tend to eat them in hot dog buns instead of hamburger buns, because we don't make as much of a mess that way .

Hot dog buns and cheese-great ideas! I'll try that next time(and maybe even make my own sauce )
I will only eat them on potato rolls, btw, they are nice and dense and don;t get soggy.

What a coincedence, my daughter has been "dying" for a sloppy joe and I was going to make them with Manwich, but I think I'll try making my own sauce. Thanks for the inspiration. I couldn't tell you the last time I ate a sloppy joe or a reuben, but all this talk is causing a craving.
