Does anyone know how long it takes Disney to transition between Halloween and Christmas themes?
Arriving Nov. 7th

Last couple of years it's been the second Friday after Halloween, so it'll likely starting on 11/10 officially. That said they do start putting up the decorations before that, and some of the food booths had soft openings too.

They usually start decorating the castle with snow, in the middle of October. Halloween time typically ends on Halloween, that stuff usually comes down immediately overnight and then they start decorating the parks for Christmas completely, usually most of the decorations are up before Christmas time starts. Also, usually Christmas time will start on the second Friday of November.

We were at Disneyland 11/5/22-11/7/22 (the weekend before the official start of the Christmas season). There were many decorations up on the 5th and 6th (snow/garland on the castle for example, but lots more too). When we entered DL on the 7th (which was a Monday) the tree had magically gone up overnight. Small World was closed for the holiday decorating and did not open while we were there. There were also no parades (but we did see cavalcades). There were some holiday treats available (for example, we got to try the soft Mickey head gingerbread cookie but not the famous gingerbread man cookie). We were thrilled to get to experience a taste of Christmas for our trip!

How was the crowd levels during this time?

I would say medium maybe…. This was my first trip to DL in 25 years, so I don’t really have much to compare to. We had some waits for sure, Radiator Springs Racers was 90 min I think, but we could do lots of things with a short wait too. I rode Luigi’s and Mater rides in Cars Land over and over and were almost walk ons while the others were in line for RSR. Sorry, that is probably not much help at all!
ETA: I would absolutely go during this in between time again, because I thought the crowds were very manageable!

So Luigi's and Mater were operating but were the songs Xmas themed yet? I am thinking of going at this time and I love Luigi's when I was there previously after Thanksgiving. I was concerned also that it might close for transition to Xmas?

Luigi’s and Mater won’t close to transition to Christmas. It’s something that can be done overnight.
