Transient tax question

My parents booked a studio direct on the Aulani website. There is tax included in their balance. When I went last year I paid a transient tax but I rented from a DVC member. Will that be something they pay in addition to the tax already on their room or is that only for those who buy or rent DVC?

If the website said that they already included the taxes, than that should be it. We pay the transient tax for DVC only in Hawaii because that is the State law. And since it is not included in our dues, we have to pay when at the time of your stay. The transient tax should have been part of the "taxes" that they already paid. There should be no "surprise" extra taxes for a cash stay.
By law, all taxes and fees must be clearly disclosed on your final booking page. So if there were no other fees posted when they booked, then there shouldn't be any when they get there. They can always call the resort and speak to them to double check.

Aulani does not charge a resort fee but charges $37 for parking.

Yes, parking is free for DVC on points. The OP said that her parents are paying cash for the room though and asked for any additional fees.
