Yesterday I noticed on the USH website that Transformers, the new attraction is soft opening through the 22nd of May. Will have it's official opening on the 25th of May.

Transformers: The Ride 3D official grand opening is on May 25.

A sneak peek of the ride may be accessible to theme park guests during intermittent Technical Rehearsals now through May 22. Technical Rehearsals are subject to delay, closure or cancellation without notice.

Confirmations coming today from USH are popping up that people are riding it.

With this extended early open hopefully lines are settled down for your visit. The queue is giant so waits could be extreme. There is a single rider option for this attraction.

If we go to USH we will do FOLP or the VIP tour again, my Uncle usually comps us these tickets.

It's looking to be a good summer to opt for a FOLP at Universal. It's anticipated that the Tranformers attraction in the lower lot will also add crowds to the Mummy and Jurrasic Park attractions in the lower lot.

Also Transformers appears to be purpose built so the Single Rider and FOTL queues include a lot of the well themed interior queue area.

If anyone is curious at Universal Studios you can by park passes with a front of line option. In comparison Disneyland Park's FastPasses are free.

Wow cool!! I been to USH last year and before that, 5 years previous! But with all the amazing reviews, it looks like I will have to go this year again! I been on Spiderman in both Orlando and Osaka, Japan and without a doubt it was the best attractions I been on hands down! So this being the same kind of design, but with a decade of updated technology, I cant imagine how good this is!

California Adventure will get most of the attention this summer with all the new additions and lands, but this ride alone may upstage the whole thing if it surpasses RSR in the wow factor or RSR doesnt live to the hype this is doing thus far! And to be honest its been living the hype for months now in Singapore already!

I'll be there May 31st! I'm debating on whether to get the FOLP. It's so much more expensive than the military tickets and I don't think I can really afford it! Hopefully if I get there at opening and do it 1st thing it won't be so bad?!:worried:

I went today and all I can say is........... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

That ride is perfection!!!!!! For the rest of the day I just have had the images burned into my mind/retinas of "stuff" from the ride. I want to ride it again now!

I don't want to give any spoilers here so PM me and if I have permission on my disboards account I will reply and answer questions.

FYI:
I loved the first movie, hated the second, and thought the third was ok.
Wait time varied throughout the day from 50-75min.
I had FotL pass and had 1min wait time.
Managed to snap a picture of the loading area but not sure if I should share it.

I'm pretty much going to marry that ride.
Still prefer DL over US though.

For the FOTL pass, do you have unlimited access or only one FOTL access to each attraction? I read it from the Universal Hollywood site that you only get one FOTL access to each attraction. Does it mean I need to line up in regular standby line after using FOTL once if I want to re-ride the same attraction? I just need to make sure how FOTL pass works to work on my touring plan in August. I only have one day.

Thanks for the info!:thumbsup2

Only once per ride unfortunately. So if we saw the ride length wasn't that long we went on the standby line, and came back for our FotL if we wanted to ride again.

Do you guys know, if I pre-buy the $77 pass from the internet, can I upgrade once I get to the park if it looks super busy? And if so, can I upgrade once I've already gone inside, or do I need to do it before I enter?

Thanks for the good tip about using it only when needed!:thumbsup2

Do they scan your FOTL pass/ticket? I am doing the VIP tour first in the morning! Then I will use the FOTL access after the tour. Not sure if the VIP FOTL pass is the same as the regular FOTL pass. Does anyone have any idea about this? Thanks for all your info and tips!:worship:

The VIP tour last 6-7 hours, after that we used the VIP pass for just about anything, they are very accomadating, never had a problem doing what we wished. For as much as you pay the should. Nothing was scanned at anytime.

Thanks Jack!:worship: This is wonderful news. ::yes::

I've managed to ride Transformers 6 times between Friday and Saturday during the "technical rehearsals". And easily could have gone on more times, but I need to pace myself lol. I'm definitely planning to visit a few more times before the summer crowds make for much longer wait times. The longest I've had to wait so far was 17 minutes (actual time; the posted wait time was 25 min). And a couple of times, it was a walk on. Although on Saturday afternoon, I saw the wait time reach up to 75 min. We got in all of our rides in before Noon, in anticipation of crowds/lines building throughout the day.

The attraction is very, very good, and as previously reported, utilizes the same ride technology as the Spiderman ride at Islands of Adventure. Personally, I prefer the Spiderman ride, due to a more enjoyable story (completely subjective, I know). And since I've been on Spiderman, I wasn't as impressed by Transformers as most of my friends were. But Transformers isn't a slouch. The queue really impressed me--in fact I think it's the best queue at USH. The Orlando parks have some equally impressive queues, but the Hollywood theme park has been lacking until now. It's definitely a very good ride and gives USH a much-needed new attraction for the park. It's going to be a very busy summer for Universal. :cool1:

I'm not sure how much the VIP pass costs, but I should probably get it next time. They scanned for every ride for standard Front of the Line pass, but not for the shows.

You are lucky. It was no shorter than 55min during the full day that I had at the park. Using Front of the Line once to ride it was amazing (still thinking about it) but I didn't want to commit an hour to getting on board again.

I've never been on Spiderman, but if it compares in anyway to Transformers, then it must be a damn fine ride.

Is Transformers a 3D simulator type ride similar to Star Tours, Simpsons etc. or something else entirely?
