Transfers in California?

My family purchased Disney transfers for our California cruise. Our flight out of LAX doesn't leave until 11:15pm. My question is... After returning to port, can we visit San Pedro for the day and then take the transfers later in the day or is there a time limit for taking the transfers???

Also, I know at Port Canaveral the airlines meet there to pick up and check in luggage before you board the shuttle buses. Do they do that in California???

After the tremendous costs of the Disney Cruise, I really am trying to not have to spend more money on cabs, etc... Especially when we will have extra money to spend at the airport on snacks and meals with 3 growing boys...

Any suggestions will be appreciated....

I would doubt that they would have transfers later in the day. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought in Florida the transfers only ran in the morning. There would be almost no one using the transfers later in the day, so I would imagine the expense of having empty cars/buses waiting for people throughout the day would be too high. 11:15 is a long time to wait. It would probably be cheaper/easier to rent a car. A daily rental should be under $30, so it is much cheaper than transfers. Then you could go to Venice Beach, Santa Monica, etc. and do some sightseeing.

Good luck,
Jennifer

Hi I'm in the same position in California. I'd love to do some sightseeing in San Pedro and then catch a cab or shuttle to the airport. My concern is what to do with all our luggage. Anyone have an idea?

Thanks!
