I have a quick question about transferring points. I know you can only do it once per use year but how does it work with multiple contracts.

I am thinking about buying 150 direct points at GFV. I would like to split it into 3 contracts of 50 pts each. We don’t need the 2022 points because we all our travel booked for that use year.

If I was to transfer the points would I be able to transfer 150 points at once or 3 times 50pts each?

You get one transfer per membership per year (I believe it is calendar, however I'm not positive).

:hippie:

It’s once per UY in or out of the membership, no matter how many contracts.

So, you would be limited to just transferring them to one owner.

It is based on the UY of the points so since these would be 2022 points, it would count as both your 2022 UY transfer and the receiving owners 2022 UY transfer.

It sounds like you are wanting 3 contracts but with the same UY, so these contracts will be under the same membership number. You won't have to transfer them to use them since they are all in the same membership and home resort, and can book as normal. However if you are splitting the contracts between different UY, you will then have multiple membership numbers, and then will need to transfer them to one membership to use to book your whole reservation.

I think the OP is wondering about transferring out just the 2022 points they will get when buying since they won’t be using them.

When buying one resort in one use year, there is no benefit to buying three separate 50 point contracts rather than one 150 point contract except for the possibility that those lower point contracts may later be easier to sell than the higher point contracts in the resale market.

There is a possible disadvantage to buying three 50 point contracts with the same use year rather than one 150 point contract in that you will have three different closing costs rather than one and the total for the three will likely total more than the one.
